Ok guys I cooked up something really funny: a melee COI build :)

The main idea behind this build is monster ailment threshold. To calculate the amount of energy you get for COI, you need to divide by the enemy elemental ailment threshold. So reducing that is one way to scale energy. Overwhelming presence does exactly that, at level 19 you reduce enemy ailment threshold by 29%, and is scaled by aura effect. There are builds that take this to the extreme and reduce enemy ailment threshold by 99%, but those are Adorn builds and are way too expensive.

Here I have about 75% ailment threshold reduction. The other factors that scales energy is the size of the ignite, so you scale your hit damage as usual and also ailment magnitude. I have so much energy generation that I was able to socket both comet and detonate dead. On rares and bosses, every melee hit will trigger comets, detonate dead is for trash mobs. I should have swapped out detonate dead with eye of winter for the boss fight but forgot.

The other benefit of scaling aura effect is you get to run blasphemy temporal chains. At 160% increased aura effect temporal chain slows white mobs by 40% which makes mapping a lot safer.

Now the best part, hammer of the gods does so much initial hit damage that it calls down a torrent of comets. It's literally orbital bombardment. I don't think I have play a more satisfying skill in POE2!

Overwhelming presence also reduces stun threshold, so you heavy stun mobs all the time too. I really should pickup the 4th ascension point for the extra damage.

It's still in progress, whisper of doom should be picked up to add flammability for harder contents. The gears are meant to be budget, most are left overs from previous builds that couldn't sell but are too good to throw away. Ignore the 77% ingenuity, you don't need that for the build to work, I just have it from the other build.

man, i'm surprised you haven't socketed in a Stampede to be able to run through packs and rain comets on them. Unless stampede doesn't do enough damage.

Probably some more optimizations to be made. This is basically a significantly weaker version of the temporal titan carnarius cooked up. Nice try at theorycrafting, though!
