Hello all! Been wanting to do a proper guide for my CRIT STORMWEAVER build before calling it quits, after spending quite some (translated: way too many) hours in POE2 Early Access.
Definitely had some fun time (and also not-so fun time) in the early access. I prepared an in-depth video guide but just to quickly share the full rationale of my entire build. Note that this is an END GAME build costing multiple of mirrors, on at least a level 96 Stormweaver Character:
- This one build is enough to carry through all contents in game today.
- From gameplay standpoint, the primary damage dealer is Spark - with Cast On Shock playing a supportive role with "bonus damage"
- This build focuses on balancing & stacking as much as negative resistance/damage increment debuffs as possible. Significant investments are put into both Shock Magnitude and Lightning Exposure since their multipliers are just too strong to ignore in current state.
- From debuff standpoint - this build utilizes Ball Lightning + Lightning Warp (vs. the more conventional Orb of Storms) AND Conductivity.
- From buff standpoint - like all other build, this utilises Sigil of Power + Skeleton + Soul Offering with heavily invested nodes into Skill Duration (at least +140% from Gems & Passives) providing me with 14 seconds of Soul Offering (vs the usual 4-6 seconds)
- Current Hit Damage is approximately 260k in-game panel (Average Damage per Use) with 4.72 casts per second (0.21s cast speed), totalling to 1.2mio in-game panel DPS. With full buffs/debuffs, in-game DPS shoots up to ~3.5mio
- In POB, the DPS is approximately 3mio - 3.6mio unbuffed and scales all the way up to 40m DPS (13.5m for Spark / 25.7mio for Lightning Conduit). Number in POB doesn't mean anything but used more so as a reference for build planning purposes as pretty much nothing survives beyond the 100k in-game panel's average damage per use.
- With recent addition of Temporalis in my gears, it helps with mapping where I'd just turn off my Cast on Shock and replace it with Blink (since I deal more than enough damage to one shot everything incl. elites/rare packs
- From my tests, critical build definitely outshines non-critical build, but will result in many "gearlock" situations (e.g. lacks the flexibility with stats as it'll force you to take crit-related passive nodes and/or gears whenever possible).
- Cast Speed - IMO, get it last. It's a premium and nice-to-have stats. Having good RAW damage outshines HYPER cast speeds (but only scratching bosses' itch). The goal is ONE SHOT mobs wherever feasible.

Impressive…thanks for sharing. I teamed a storm weaver player yesterday and noticed how big the gap between us was. The stormweaver literally deleted everything while I was just tapping away the enemies 🥲.
Wow 1.4 hour long guide, this is so in depth
why use the mahu shield? it seems to me that even a mediocre focus for like 20-30divs would increase DPS by immense amounts? if I copy over my own lousy focus into your POB, the DPS goes from 3.6M to 4.2M without any other changes to your build.
Gotta be careful copying builds, i see some concepts only work for your high level setup, but for my weaker equipment its less damage. For example the from nothing and against the darkness combo for my state of int is less damage than using the points on other stuff and using another jewel in the freed jewel slot. But thats because my int is in the 350-400 range, i assume once its 800+ the impact would scale differently. Also the controlled meta gem, for me its more damage in the traditional massive ring spot, not your wild storm spot, because of the 6 extra skills points to get to the socket in your spot. Very interesting, it has been a lot of fun going through your ideas and seeing what may or may not translate to my weaker state. Thanks, superb video and some really cool ideas!
