Everything Thorns In Patch 0.2

Hey guys!

Wanted to start getting more discussions around Thorns. It's in a much much better spot. I left out a lot of things like companions or unique weapons that could benefit the build. I mainly wanted to showcase all the things that directly involved thorns.

We have a lot of new support gems most importantly Barbs and Quill Burst. After reflecting thorns damage at an enemy your melee attacks will deal thorns damage both single target and aoe. To showcase how powerful this was I leveled through the campaign using no weapons, only my first. Obviously this isn't how you should play, but its pretty crazy how good this is.

The single best change though is the change the Vengeance. Thorns leeching life is INSANE. When combined with vaal pact I've become unkillable in the campaign. I imagine once this is min maxed well in end game many ascendancy will perform will with thorns.

I used vaal pact on spark last season and was unkillable. Life leech and blood magic are slept on in any build using vaal pact...

How do you level this if you have no prior access to Thorn items?

Will build like this be able to handle T4 pinnacle bosses?

5 divs to cruise campaign?

Going to try to get on this tonight and hopefully before Mathil drops another video about it. His last video ended with him talking about starting it.

Great vid! Loved my thorns/retaliation build when I played Grim Dawn. Will definitely give it a shot.

I give this a week before it gets nerfed, we can't have good things

How would scaling maps work? Seems like scaling falls off pretty sharply after campaign. Wonder what the dps will be in t15/16s

did anyone try a manastacking thorn lich?
Rosnate shield with 15% lightning thorns from max can get you like 600-900 lightning thorns.
Manarecoup from prevented blocked hits or can block all hits
manarecoup from 70% dmg taken.

Will it be nice or will the dmg/survivability suck?
