Nice nice this is becoming my favorite build this season. And a great starter too. Let's git that Chernobog.

Hey Guys!

Check out the End Game Bleed (Leve 85+) Variant for the current build. Thorns is going very well! I've cleared Arbiter on +0, Delirium on +0, Expedition on +1, Breach on +2, and Ritual on +3. My survivability is a lot better and my damage is WAY better. The updates:

  1. Rune of Tithing got a massive buff in the hotfix yesterday. Changed from 1-10 to 1-100 lightning damage. We didn't really care about rune of tithing before but now I have it in basically every rune slot. To the point that I got myself a morriors with 5 sockets. I doubled my thorns damage today because of this rune change. This is also a massive change for leveling. Messing around with these on a level 1 alt I was 1 shotting bosses xD

  2. Bleed. Bleed feels great especially with the addition of Rake + Herald of blood. This has added a lot to mapping for mobility and clear. It was also a minor dps increase for bossing using only 6 passive points.

  3. Atziris Acuity. I had a lot of passives in the previous build allocated towards leach. These gloves make your crit leech instantly. With a 98% thorns crit this feels amazing. I was able to save a lot of passive points and redesign the tree once I introduced these gloves.

These changes feel amazing and I'm quite happy with the state of the build. I'm still missing some major damage items as well. +3 Prism of Belief for scavenged plating will be nice. Chernobog shield is probably our most important chase piece, the damage increase here will be massive despite the shield have no thorns.

Not sure what the final ceiling is for thorns but we aren't there yet! More updates to come but for now enjoy :)

On titan, I added infernal cry to the mix. Not sure if it does a lot, tbh, but I thought it could be nice for clear. For bosses I use resonating shield to break armour fast, then use infernal cry with battershout to consume broken armour.

Looks like an awesome build, the only thing that stops me from playing it is the clear speed seems a bit under average, is there anyway to improve that ?

I was wondering if you had tested painters serpent gloves. Appears to be a way to scale the lightning thorns but unsure if it works out better than crit. Might work well when using many lighting thorns.

Hey I have a couple questions for both of you about how the build works and the optimizations you're using:

  1. Why are you not using weapons with +to Critical Damage Bonus? afaik this applies globally but I could be wrong. Strife Pick is a 1H mace that has it inherent so it effectively is like having 2 sockets if you were going to use that rune anyway.

  2. Why are you not using Avatar of Fire to convert then scale with Fire/elemental damage? This may be more applicable to the Titan route but Warrior has access to a lot of fire pen nodes, Physical damage is known to be difficult to scale, and when utilizing the updated Tithing/Tempered runes you could convert everything to Fire anyway. This also plays into Anointing Volcanic Skin which is one of the best sources of damage on the passive tree for any Fire build. It also means you could look for rings with +Fire damage % for further scaling. It also enables using Herald of Fire with a Megalomaniac Coming Calamity etc.

  3. Why are you not just using Leap Slam supported by Overpower, Devastate, Quill Burst, and Momentum to map? It inherently consumes broken armour so your movement ability through the map also breaks armour + consumes. If you have a 5th support slot you could do Mag Effect to make the AoE larger or something else.

  4. Are you aware that you could also do a Cultist/Zealot/Fanatic Greathammer as a source of AoE onto strike skills including Armour Breaker or normal melee if you wanted Quill Burst + Barbs on one skill that also AoEs? It would attack slower and require Giant's Blood too. This could also be corrupted for a 3rd rune socket and if it has a good +to Critical Damage Bonus you can get over +60% to critical Damage Bonus from one item which is huge.

Uve got people clearing the game with thorns but most of the player base still crying that LS is the only thing to play

Thorns is so much fun, but sanctum is such a piece of shit.

Fortunately, as a Blood Mage I don't care too much for my third point. So I'm just making my way to around 80 so I can farm Ultimatum instead. There the mobs actually tries to hit you.

I think blood mage will be pretty giga since I believe I will be able to reach 8000 health with remnants without much struggle. That would be such a chunky 200% crit damage multiplier with already 85% thorns crit chance.

I'm running a high AS mace and just spam Armour Breaker. It is fast enough to clear all Barbs and Quill Bursts between most bosses attack animation. It also allows for leap slam and shield charge for pretty great mobility.

I rejigged my warrior in standard to try this build out yesterday, and am loving it so far, although I had to drop a few tiers in maps because my resists and health are not quite where they were before.

My question however, and apologies if this was covered in the videos or somewhere else, is how you deal with, or avoid, periods of just not getting hit. As soon as I don't have barbs and/or quills, my damage drops to almost nothing since I'm not specced for spears/rapid assault as such.

Would it be feasible to actually specc for a high level spear (with the dex requirements that entails) and properly level up rapid assault (or Rake, depending on which you use), to mitigate thorns downtime on bosses?
