Blood mage - bones build - Vlad The Impalyer

20

When i can i always try to build vampiric builds in games. PoE2 atm is very limited but here is what i figured out can be build right now. Im still not quite there, lvling my character but what i have, kinda works.

Passives

Tree: https://ibb.co/SwRKQgz

Red: realocate points since this build wont use energry shield

Yellow: we need node that will stop us paying mana for skills. Since we already to pay in blood. Instead we will use another node to convert mana into kinda "energy shield".

Whole builds is about crit chance, crit dmg, life leach and ofc impaling enemies ;)

On ascendancy of we go left side:

- life leach, vitality siphon, spell critical chance, gore spike, spell ciritcal chance, sunder the flesh (with this last passive bonestorm should reach 100%+ critical chance and others probably 75%+)

Skills

https://ibb.co/y5y5nY7

In fact this build uses mainly 3 skills:

- vulnerability: heightened curse, inspiration, spell echo (didnt find any better atm) - on lvl 15 it does apply 3409 armor reduction debuff

- bonestorm: brutality, pin (must have), inevitable critical - skill is main source of damage. Allows to kite thx pin support. For at 49lvl it has 52.95% critical chance

- bone cage: lockdown, leverage (didnt figure out any better) - lockdown is must have on it. In case of to many mobs, bonestorm wont do it. Cage is allows to pin down and reposition.

Probably will be usable:

- mana drain - i hope it will allow to rebuid mana pool when it will become "energy shield" when build is completed.

Additions:

- contagion - just to kill big packs faster. But right now its not doing good enough damage i think. Maybe devs will buff it one day.

- unerth - just a palceholder. can help do deal with big packs. Combine with contagion.

Itemization and stats

This build needs off hand that adds spell damage. As much as you can. Since bone skills don't do crazy dmg by default, we have to push as much into it as we can.

We won't use energry shield and by nature we are going heavly into str - this build is armor and resists based. I think i will need only 119 int (to upgrade skills to max lvl), 20 dex (for support skills) and rest is str.

So main focus on items:

  1. plus x to spell lvls
  2. increase spell damage
  3. armor
  4. resists
  5. leech
  6. health
  7. mana
  8. movment speed
  9. stats int/str

Any suggestions how i can improve this build? And if its even good idea to go passives: blood magic and mind over matter?

Hi, I'm playing blood mage bonestorm myself, T5+ maps feel bad for survivability so I was looking into changing a few things up.

Couple of questions/remarks:

  1. In your tree you spec Mind over Matter and Blood Magic, these don't combine, is this a mistake perhaps? I get going Blood Magic because of the high mana cost
  2. I got Bonestorm at lvl 19 right now (lvl 16 base lvl +3 phys spells on wand) and it requires 151 int according to my tooltip
  3. Because mana cost is so high, Mind over Matter will just make it so you won't be able to channel Bone Storm
  4. I'm not sure about the life + armour way, I'm torn between this and life + ES, nothing yet feels tanky enough for higher tier maps

I do want to keep playing this build but kinda hardstuck atm. Also I haven't been able to complete 3rd and 4th ascendancy since the difficulty.

I'm lvl 72 with 2k life, 500 ES and 770 mana (my mana pool almost drains completely)

Any and all ideas and tips I'm looking into

EDIT: Cast speed is VERY important. The extra projectile passives also seem to do alot.

Swap out inevitable crit for scattershot on bonestorm. Scattershot gives you 3 projectiles per tick instead of 1, so it's effectively 200% more cast speed.

I'm also using frostwall for clearing because I haven't taken any phys damage nodes yet. I went Resonance and using Combat Frenzy and CoF Sniper's Mark for power charges. Currently only on cruel A1 but I'm 1-shotting packs and downing bosses in 10 seconds.

Sunder the flesh is useless as it sets the crit chance to 15%, not adds to it. Bonestorm is already at 15% so it’s doing absolutely nothing
