Tempest Flurry and Charged Staff question

10

How does these two work in tandem? I’m thinking about going ice and lightning and wondering what support gems to socket where. If I have Cold Damage on TF, does that mean my CS will also deal cold damage or will it only proc on TF melee hits? What are some good support gems that are synergistic? I’m going the Resonance key passive route for generating power charges, with Elemental Invocation too along with Electrocute to get more energy.

Charged staff has 2 parts, adds a buff to all hits, and the ranged shockwave which is separate.

Flurry is good for fast attack speed on the first part for hitting the bell or bosses hard with the buff, it should only use flurry supports for that apart from the bonus added damage. Stuff like Ice Bite or Innervate carries over to all attacks if you use it because it says so and it's a specific buff on you, otherwise it shouldn't.

The shockwaves are bonus piercing ranged AOE and sometimes it's safer to stand back and shoot, but flurry moves you a lot and it's annoying in busier situations.

Perpetual charge + persistence can help uptime on CS, innervate for clear, maybe conduction etc. Electrocute cuts the damage a lot so maybe not good now but probably is after their planned patch. I tend to use CS to whittle down packs and bell the rares so it's less about damage and more about utility and uptime for me.
