A not(less) clunky bonestorm
My attempt to make a bonestorm build which is as comfy as posssible.
bonestorm is usually portrayed as a high dps low qol very clunky skill, but i wanted to change that
to do this
we go pf for the less movement speed slow penalty and the mobility support to make channeling and walking much more smoother
we add enough aoe so they overlap often on smaller enemies and also hit a wider area
we add chain so it hits enemies at the back too.(snake pit+ricochet)
we get crit multi through the maligaro's virtuosity gloves
we get power charges through Voll's protector ironclad vestment
why not blood mage?
simply put the life cost is way too big, and fixing the life cost breaks the build more than bloodmage brings to the table.

It's an interesting idea, but I think you overcooked a bit.
- You can use your strategic starting position as pathfinder to get 80% pierce (15% from cleanshot, 65% from piercing shot), making chain fairly redundant (so skip snakepit). Or pick the fork to 3 projectile notable instead, and use it for fork (amount of projectiles x4 for clear)
- You can use combat frenzy + pin + resonance in order to sustain power charges, in order to be able to use a much better body.
- And you also have the possibility to just pick the crit damage you have in the vicinity in order to have 300% crit bonus, without using these gloves. Maligaro would spare a fair amount of points but it's a possibility (+ the crit multi on gear wouldn't be wasted this way).
The tree (using wand + ES shield, helmet being ES and the rest being pure eva, with ghost shroud, wind dancer and combat frenzy as baseline) could look like this.
I'm also wondering about a weapon swap in order to benefit from the bonus damage on attack. For instance, using a quill rain with rain of arrow and/or freezing salvo would be a quick way to get more damage in.

I like your thinking. I am almost 52 to try poison plasma blast with the movement node and gem.
Vollβs is huge opportunity cost vs using a much better body armor. Plus itβs trash since it only gives 1 power charge. You can also get charges with
- Resonance with combat frenzy or snipers mark.
- sacrifice cast on minion death profane ritual
Really no good way to get multiple power charges so until there is bonestorm charge aoe is just clunky.
Bonestorm is the perfect skill for bloodmage because it cost almost no mana/life.
Im playing a Bonestorm/DD build and the life cost of both skills is basicaly not noticeable.
Actually I think deadeye is a way better choice by far to strip away the clunkiness. +1 proj is insane on bonestorm as it will cut the charge time by 25%, with scattershot added you'll get down to less than 1.5s charge time for a fully charged bonestorm without any cast speed. If you generate frenzy charge through pinning and combat frenzy (I think that's the name of the buff) and the keystone that converts frenzy to powercharges it'll be great too no need for the armour (which is fun early but unplayable lategame when you need an actual armour to survive)
