I may have missed the memo, but omg does WASD make this game easier
Maybe it's my 20-year-old wow muscle memory kicking in, but damn. If you haven't tried it yet, you really should.

Yea I don’t think I can go back to click to move now.
It feels fkn natural after a few hours of play.
I wouldn't be surprised if we will see a moba with wasd in the future.
It is objectively better than click to move. It’s wild to me that people still use click to move.
I find wasd unusable personally. To me click to move is superior by miles due to years and years of muscle memory. It’s good that it’s an option at least to people who want to use it and you’re not forced either way.
I'll pass.. over 40k hours diablo 2, m&k still feels good, minus the dog water auto aim. I use wasd for mmo games though ofc.
My middle finger is so sore! But I love it!
Feels great on controller too
Been using it since day 1 . It’s the best feeling ever . Also try a controller . When my back and arms are getting tired I plug my controller and I’m able to lounge back and play
Makes me want the same movement in PoE1 :/
I cannot do WASD. Even as a WoW enjoyer for like 15 years.. without the camera manipulation aiding with movement wasd feel awful to me.
If they added a hybrid sysem where you could do wasd + click to move it would be awesome.
If you think WASD is good, try a controller
Try a controller. Twin stick is almost easy mode
I like both. Mouse is nice for having all the left fingers open for abilities.
Best feature ever
Controller Better, especially if you don't need a lot of keybinds.
POE2 without WASD is borderline unplayable.
Try using a controller.
It feels even better than WASD, it just really really sucks that you cant use both kbm and controller at the same time, one for playing and the other inventory management.
That is the dream
I just started a gladiator in settlers league, after 10 minutes I was moving via mouse again as if nothing had happened
I'm with you on that one. Played MMOs for years using wasd and a million other games so I'm used to moving with that and hitting keybinds around it no problem. Every time I hop on my chics character to help her out and she's still using click to move I'm just like man this feels jank af after wasd for hours.
Man I tried to log in to play some d4 with my Dad over the weekend and I was fat finding the wasd all fucking night, my brain refused to go back to click to move, it's completely ruined me even though PoE 2 end game is brutalizing me repeatedly and just making me feel like shit.
As a shooter player WASD is just natural for me
Shit I have to relearn my key binds now! I hate you. Also thanks let me try this
Prefer controller myself. Though that sorta depe ds on what skills you use or class you are. Merc it works pretty good.
Not sure it’s better on my fingers and hand though.
I found it weird. But also click to move.
Controller tho... Felt perfect right from the start.
I tried so hard, but its awkward on a heavy button build but I imagine would be great a 2 button build.
It's my go-to control scheme for this game.
I want to love it but Iove just being able to play the game using one hand and the other drinking tea or something. Nothing beats that for me.
It's really nice too if you have one of those fancy mmo-type mouses with 12 thumb buttons on the side.
Am I the only one who can't get use to it?
Its taxing on the fingers
Just wait till you find out how tight they have movement with a controller and how easy spells are.
It is better in every conceivable way. Took a while to get used to, but I can't go back now.
I started with using WASD because I am also a WoW gamer but it took me a while to realize I could bind all my stuff to my gaming mouse as well. And that's when things finally start clicking for me in terms of directing my abilities properly. So if you're using WASD and have a gaming mouse as well, make sure you're using your keybinds properly.
I quite enjoy the way mouse controls play, but the targeting system in this game is complete ass at times.
Not fun trying to avoid a giant boss in a tiny arena when my movement commands randomly lock me into attacking despite me clicking literally anywhere else than on the damn boss's damn character model. Same with enemy corpses, as my character apparently feels like it's more important to kick 'em when they're down rather than moving away from the avalanche of enemies that are actively taking issue with my face still being connected to the rest of my head.
I'd definitely have to give WASD a shot if it makes controls in these situations behave in an actually consistent manner. Having abilities or dodge rolls randomly go 180 degrees in the complete opposite direction than where the mouse cursor is pointed has also caused quite a few moments of frustration and unnecessary deaths so far. Any issues with those, or is it just as bad with WASD?
You guys can roast me Idc. But I bought the cheapest wired controller from Xbox and I now can’t play Poe 2 without it. Doing menus and inventory is really terrible and slow when u can click with your mouse a million times faster…but mapping feels so good I rarely die and go so much faster
The Crossbow skills feel so fun on WASD. I’m having a blast. This game is gonna be a banger when they fix some of the endgame issues.
Yeah I can't play PoE1 much anymore because of the mouse move only obliterating my wrist.
WASD felt so natural
It's so damn nice. My old man wrists can rest
I remember playing POE1 and getting duper frustrated that WASD wasn't an option and then playing a different ARPG and fetting frustrated it waan't point ans click hahaha.
But WASD is best for me for POE2 as well
Depends on class for me. I play Ranger with WASD but Monk with click to move
Crazy right? I can’t even fathom playing without it now
Controller > WASD
controller is even better
How are people genuinely clicking 1 and 2 for flasks with WASD?? I see everyone having this set up but can't understand the finger positioning to be able to comfortably do this
And then what am I supposed to use to cast skills?
For me controller is the way to go, play on pc with ps5 controller
I switched from WSAD to controller and now I can't look back. It's was more easier to play
Knew this already but after fighting the bullet hell that is the final Trial of Sekhema boss it became really apparent how much easier (and fun) it is to deal with these bullet hell fights that GGG love to put in just by pressing and releasing WASD and hovering your mouse over the boss instead of having to constantly orb walk while also dodging by clicking specific spots on the floor to make sure you don't move too far or too little.
Too bad the crossbow shoots twice as slow with WASD than with spamming left click on kbm. It doesn’t seem like it gets any of the reload speed perks with WASD lol
