Does Wind Dancer with Ghost Dance Defensive mechanic really work?

03

I've seen on YT that Wind Dancer buff (boosts evasion) synergizes with Ghost Dance buff ( upon hit, Ghost Dance shrouds replenishes ES based on 5% of the character's total evasion rating).

This YT short claims that many players make use of this mechanic as a survival mechanism as a last ditch mechanic to immediately boost ES as a shield to life when being swarmed by monsters or receiving a huge hit by having both buffs active thus coming up with an Evasion-ES defensive meta.

I tried this on my level 46 ranger with a pure ES helm about 120 ES but I don't notice a difference in survivability? What am I doing wrong. Is there a particular support skills I need to add on to make it work? Do I need more ES on my equipment?

120 isn't much ES to take advantage both. And the players using both are in endgame.

Yes it works, but it doesn’t work at low levels. Wind dancer is percentage based, and so is ghost dance. So in t14 or so maps right now, I have like 17,000 evasion, and 2k ES. That matters, because when I get hit, ghost dance will give me back like 850 ES. I also barely ever get hit, because my evasion currently is like 85% or so (estimated of course), so lots of time in between.

If you’re dealing with less than 1000 evasion, you’re gonna have less than 50 restored ES , which is nothing. As with many things, bigger numbers are better there for sure.

Grim Feast is way better than Ghost Dance tbh.

I put a helmet made for an ant on my head and I still died in a bike accident, do helmets not work?
