Minion Chronomancer Boss Trolling Build

Here is something slightly off the beaten track, a chrono minion build:

Why have 200k dps and kill the boss in one second when you can have 20k dps and just freeze time for 10 seconds, am I right?

The best thing about this build is it's extremely cheap. Time freeze is just another way to scale damage without the heavy cost of top end gear. My most expensive piece is a +4 minion/+spirit sceptre for 20ex, all others are 10ex or less, mostly 1-3ex. Entire setup is like 50ex.

Passive tree is pretty simple, just take all the minion damage nodes for offense with 1st weapon set and your usual ES+CI nodes for defense. There are four clusters of spell duration near by, take those with your 2nd weapon set, and any added curse effect you can reach with your left over 2nd weapon point. This will give you 10+ seconds of time freeze. Now add temporal chains with added curse effect from support gem/jewel and you get to about 15 seconds of time freeze. If the boss is still alive, second wind to freeze for another 7-8 seconds. Your second weapons should be a wand with high cast speed and Ardura for cooldown recovery.

I run frost mages because they have cost reduction from gem quality (extra spirit from amulet and jewel is super expensive). I can just squeeze 10 frosties from body armor and sceptre.

The video is a t17 +3 level boss fight (again I don't have currency yet to corrupt my maps to go higher), the lava actually killed my minions during the first time freeze, but you just freeze again to troll the boss.

Mapping isn't the fastest due to summoning AI, but it's very safe since frost mages chill/freeze a lot, and if you see them dying from a rush/rare mob you can time freeze without weapon swap. The 4 seconds reprieve is usually enough to get them through. I also run a cleric instead of the 10th mage while mapping. Overall for the 50ex investment you put in, you can chill in t17 maps (probably t18 as well, but again I don't have the vaal orbs and maps to spare).

The build is super unoptimized because I am cheap. Pain offering should be used for a huge boost, but rattling sceptres are above 20ex, and most importantly I played on controller a lot. Pain offering is absolute ass on controller, most of the times you lose the animation time, the mana, and then you get nothing since auto targeting is fucked up. GGG should make pain offering always target a skeleton warrior by default.

Nice build! chrono really got my attention for the utility of it all, i believe most builds do well with it.
