Comprehensive Lightning Stormweaver Conduit Nuke Guide

Hi everyone ! After being addicted and clocking in 300 hours over the first 3 weeks, I finally got around to producing a guide on my main class: Stormweaver!
I've been quite happy with my build, but that being said, since the game is new and I've been living in a bubble for the most part, I don't think this is like groundbreaking ultra huge brain tech, I just feel like... it's how the class was meant to be played? Possibly? Anyways! Here's the guide!
Maygi's Lightning Stormweaver Guide (Google Doc)
If you prefer video guides, I made a video version of this as well! I spent 4 days straight editing this one, help~
Complete Stormweaver Video Guide
I put together this guide because I wanted make a one-stop-shop resource that has everything you need to know about how to play and build a strong Stormweaver. Here are the topics covered:
- Basic Terminology
- Shock? Electrocute? Exposure? What's the difference?
- Skills
- What supports should I use on each gem?
- What skills are worth using, and when?
- Spirit Gems
- Jeweler's Orb Priorities
- Gemcutter Priorities
- Playstyle / Rotations
- Conduit Spam / Shocked Ground
- Arc + Manual Conduit
- Cast on Shock + Auto Conduit
- Passive Tree
- Explanations for various choices as well as alternatives
- Jewel Optimization
- How much damage can I expect to gain from various Jewel stat lines?
- Weapons
- Wand/Focus vs Staff
- Chiming Staff weapon swap
- How much damage can I expect to gain from various weapon stat lines?
- Example BiS lines
- Unique options, preferred bases, ideal substats, and an example BiS for:
- Amulet
- Anoint options
- Ring
- Belt
- Armour
- Amulet
All of this took me roughly 100 hours to put together, so I hope you enjoy !
I will be keeping the text guide up-to-date with incoming changes... surely they don't brick the build, right? Here's hoping that only the defensive part of MoM/CI gets nerfed and we get to keep our Archmage damage :3

want to play this but already know once i level it up GGG will swing that ban hammer so fast lol

Archmage, stormweaver, and es are dead. They are currently brain-dead mechanics that any monkey player with a pulse can play the game poorly with.
Great guide, I'm playing chronomancer atm but I was thinking about dabbling with Stormweaver eventually and this will be extremely helpful.
Also, happy cake day!
This is an amazing guide, well done!
Wait didnt I know you from Granblue
How would you level to this? Do you think it will be nerfed?
Great guide, nice work. Thank you! Jealously looking at a decent non-demonform caster as an infernalist.
I thought the document itself was amazingly well laid out but WOW THAT VIDEO. The editing on the passive tree pathing is amazing! I have one major worry with this build as someone who doesnt have a buttload of divines laying around for building with - and that's taking EB early. I feel like having zero energy shield on a class that isnt stacking evasion Or armor is just going to lead to having only a life pool to rely on, and before you path to mind over matter, having EB seems like a death sentence?
maybe it's just me but i read through the guide and ended up more confused about the best skills and links to use 😂😭
would be nice to show some potential setups like
A: spark with x x x and x using cast on shock with conduit linked with x x x x
B: arc with x x x
C: lightning warp with x x x
etc etc
Thankyou so so much for this - hands down THE best poe2 guide I’ve read and I really appreciate how you systematically describe all the mechanics in a really good flowing way - I’ve learned a lot!
Also appreciate the way you mapped out the different rotations or build options here rather than just one “optimal” route - also helps with understanding your mindset in setup
Thankyou thankyou!!!
The video guide is so pleasantly made I had a blast watching it - despite not even being interested in doing a stormweaver currently :) content creators should take note, this form is like 1000% better than the regular „throw it all together on stream with my face cam” formula. They just want to spit out „new op build” vids daily, instead of doing masterpieces like this.
Wtf. Mfw i see Maygii in poe2 subreddit. Holy. Thanks for the guides, hope you been having fun.
Hey!
Just want to express my gratitude for putting this together. I'm building a Stormweaver - albeit I'm going a different route and experimenting with triple-ailments... but I'm a new player and there is so much good information here. Having your guide formatted like this, with the detailed explanations and the varied options and considerations laid out... this is probably the single most helpful thing I've seen since starting PoE2.
This will be saved and regularly referenced by me as I pursue my own build. I love this format and level of detail and I hope others plagiarize your layout and use it. Haha!
Fantastic document. Thanks so much for this!
Damn, the lost art of written guides, I may not necessarily play Stormweavver any longer but it aS a damn joy just to read such high quality work with .gifs et al.
It's a damn shame the forum is stuck in the 90s, this would really help a LOT of players over there.
I don't watch vtuber cringe
Upvoted for a written guide because videos are way too slow, but
I just feel like... it's how the class was meant to be played?
I think GGG is about to rock your world when they make another balance pass
you might've wanted your video script peer reviewed by someone more experienced before dumping three weeks into making the video and doc
- your endgame tree spends 20 points pathing to a 75% shock magnitude wheel??? that comes out to at MOST 3.1% shock magnitude per point and you only get 3 jewel sockets. you tell me if that sounds efficient or not, especially when a 50% wheel lies 5 points away from your tree in Alternating Current and jewel sockets are literally everywhere. you're not using voices. this isn't an adorned build. this is by far the most baffling build decision in the guide
- the build completely lacks any amount of projectile speed and skill effect duration. both of these stats are single target multipliers on top of being good for clear, so this is an especially bad decision
- blink is absent from your list of spirit gem considerations making this build basically 50% slower than any build with blink would be. i'm not even sure what exactly you're running over it if cast on shock isn't central to your build?
- MoM is NOT optional and i don't know why you make it out to be in the video
- spark unintuitively works with chain so you should be pathing into branching bolts for significantly better clearspeed
- your anoint section is extremely misleading and does not weigh the options properly. you could PATH to conservative casting in the first place if you just went into the monk area of the tree instead of shipping your points down to africa
- rarity is way more important than you're making it out to be, since it affects currency tier upgrades. it's as good of a stat as +mana is unless you're playing HC or SSF. in the current trade economy if you're not at a minimum 100% IIR you're at an insane disadvantage
- intelligence is also way more important than "medium" priority on your gearing. highest roll intelligence is 60 flat mana and doesn't share a mod slot with mana, and is doubly as important if you're using ingenuity
- melting maelstorm is not even half as good as you've made it out to be on either one of the synergies you've listed, and it's wholly inaccurate to say that CoS and CI are reliant on it to "shine"
- foci can roll up to 400+ es if you hit the right mods. i'm not sure why you're mentioning it as a "weaker mana line" when it's literally stronger in a lot of cases and pushing for higher values gives you defensive stats, as opposed to the relatively negligible increased damage rolls you're receiving from inc spell and lightning damage.
the video title is also very misleading. it's phrased as a "stormweaver" guide, but PoE builds are not class dependent for most purposes so this kind of MMORPG-style phrasing is very misleading. this is more accurately a "Lightning Archmage" guide (mostly spark for that matter because you're lacking a lot of the stat lines you'd need for BL or arc to function properly)
This has to be the best build guide i've seen, well done
For the jewels, what mods should I look for besides shock magnitude? I couldn't find an example jewel in the vid
Thanks for spending so much effort on this!! Only thing I'm nervous about is, will it survive the nerf patch next week (or whenever) lol? I have a lvl 66 Coldweaver right now (just hit maps), wondering if I should begin respec'ing it to your Lightning build or just sit tight [probably the latter].
Happy cake day!
Great guide!
Does Adverse Growth (or any other Damage Taken Recouped as Mana) work with MoM?
(20% of Damage Taken Recouped as Mana 20% Reduced Life Regeneration rate)
Thank you so much for providing these detailed text documents and explanations for those of us that like to read instead of watch videos!!!
I learned from the video despite not being a stormweaver, that’s how you know it was a detailed guide.
Also happy cake day!
Hey!
I sort of did this on my 95 archmage sorc as I was bored out of my mind of spark and I mostly wanted something different for bossing because I couldn't see anything on the screen with it.
Without investing too much, I reached about 15 mil damage per conduit on bosses (around 70% shock) with no 6 link on conduit and lvl 19 gem. I do have a few questions though.
-
Is crit really a good investment here? i skipped all the crit nodes and just played controlled destruction as I thought it seemed pretty unreliable to add crit nodes to a 1.3 cast time spell, but maybe I'm missing something.
-
How high does your damage reach per cast with proper investment into this, both crit and non crit?
Thank you, this was awesomely written and I'm sorry if I asked something that's already covered.
🧐
I loved your PoTD, HoH, and EO guides. Glad to see you making guides on PoE
Great guide, only thing i wish it had was a direct gem links, instead of "recommendations". Just tell me what gems to use if i am playing each version.
