Str + Life Stacking Gemling Legionnaire Build Ideas, how to negate veil of the nights downside?

If you want to do a lifestacker and not have it be bad, drop Veil entirely. Instead get a high soul core % three socket Mahuxotl's , and use three 2% max life cores. Can get 45% life there, and another 35% on a five socket 5% life per core Morior Invictus with 2% life cores.

If you want to go cheaper, you can instead get a four socket, 5% life/10% res Morior Invictus for 2 div and still get 28% life there with four 2% cores. You can also downscale the Mahuxotl's to a two socket 650% for 2 div which provides 30% life with 2% life cores. This is half the cost of a more expensive three-socket 400%+ which provides the exact same 30% life.

Kaom's isn't worth the downside, and a four socket Morior provides about the same overall life when not using Veil, as well as 40% or 50% all res depending on your budget.

Baseline HP at level 90 is 1096. A conservative 500 Strength on Gemling adds another 2000. Max life on the rest of your gear is as follows:

Helmet - 223 + 2% life core

Gloves - 198 + 2% life core

Boots - 149 + 2% life core

Belt - 174

Ring - 119 x2 (Attribute quality for Strength suffix gives more total HP than life quality, especially on Breach rings)

Amulet - 178 + 9% (With 20% life quality)

Shield - 45%

Body - 35%

Total flat life here adds to 1160, added on top of your 1096 and 2000, for a grand total of 4256 baseline. With 98% increased (3% from tree) this gives a total of 8426 life. If you went for Kaom's over Morior, you would get a tiny bit more at 8567, but lose all of your spirit and 50% all ele res. Just to compare, if you did go for a 61% Veil, your flat life would go down to 4033, but your inc would spike to 159%. This would give a total of 10445 life, but you would take 4x damage from elemental compared to just normal 75% capped res. Gemling also has really easy access to a ton of max res from Thaumaturgical infusion. If we assume a measly 4% extra max from this passive, we get 79% max res, and the following values:

Remove veil of the night, get resists

Blackbraid makes armour apply to elemental damage. Only real way to get enough armour with that chest is a shield. You would have to give up 7 totem levels if you are dual wielding two handed maces to equip a shield which is a ton of damage for a totem build.
