I feel a lot of people don't know this but the whole trial is itemized. You can portal and do later or do it on another character if you got a bad affliction for one character.

Note don't portal out of the reward room or boss room until you've looted because you can't get back to those as it will put you in the next room of the trial.

So wait, you partially complete it then continue where you left off or does it restart you but you just know the boons and afflictions going in because you itemized it out from the prior run which makes it into the barya?

Been playing PoE1 for so long that I forget this is an easily missed feature for newer players. It doesn't seem as useful in PoE2 though. In PoE1 you could choose to bank valuable currencies (typically divine orbs) which you can only get after beating the final boss. If you're not confident enough with your build or if you get unlucky with afflictions, you can just sell it to someone for a fraction of the listed reward. For example, if you have 4 divines banked on the final boss, you can list it for 2 divines and there's usually a sanctum runner out there who would buy it from you. In PoE2 though, the main appeal for this trial is to ascend, so you kinda need to complete the whole thing yourself.

So I can kill boss on my main, portal out and get rewards on my alt character?

When i try this i only get the map, i can't pull my coin out of the altar i only have the option to enter it reset progress
