Will this work? Overwhelming presence + Cast on Ignite infinite energy
Im playing SSF so I dont have the ressources to test this.
The idea is this: You go Gemling. You get gem quality and gem level. You get the highest level Overwhelming Presence possible. Overwhelming Presence reduces enemy ailment threshold by ~33% if you invest all the aforementioned things. You scale this value using aura effect on the tree + jewels to reach enemy ailment threshold reduction of 100% (or as close as possible - does this have a cap?). You need ~200% aura effect, 44% from the tree, and 15-16 jewels with a max aura effect roll.
Now you equip Cast on Ignite which says:
"Gains 2 Energy per Power of enemies you Ignite with Hits from Skills, modified by the percentage of the enemy's Ailment Threshold the Ignite will deal"
If you achieved a reduction of 100% then even an ignite of 1 damage would be "infinite" energy because any value over 0 is "infinite", or at least very very big.
Before you ask yourself if the reduction of Overwhelming Presence is applied before the CoI calculation - yes it is, I did test that with my limited ressources.
So, smart people of PoE2, why will this not work and if it does work does someone have a bunch of aura jewels lying around to showcase this insanity?

Doesn’t work because overwhelming presence isn’t an aura and so will not be scaled by aura effect.
There are easier ways to trigger CoI. The best right now is to use minimum 2 CoI. What you do is slot Burning Invocation or whatever it’s called into a curse. Then you put Essence Drain with Drain Ailments on the first CoI. This will proc a loop where any monster on the burning ground from the curse builds energy, has its ignite drained, then immediately builds energy again (since the ignite from burning ground is guaranteed and immediate). Put supports like Fork on ED for clear. Then you put your damage setup in a second CoI and run around casting curses. This is only possible once you have decently high CoI and/or quality so the energy builds fast enough. Before then it’s a bit janky. Mana sustain is the only real challenge. The curse doesn’t really matter, they’ll all burn. I use Conductivity because I’m running Archmage.
Iirc "aura" tag in PoE 2 is used only for skills that affect allies, not you. Everything else is a "buff" and works in opposite way: affects only you and not your allies.
