Path of Building Community: PoE 2 Initial Release
Hey everyone, I'm happy to release the first version of Path of Building for Path of Exile 2 (PoB2).
It was a lot of work and there are sure to be an above-average number of bugs as many systems and interactions have changed from PoE1 to PoE2.
At the release of PoE2 Early Access, a subset of the PoB Community team dug in and got to work carving data/memory/assets/their time like nobody's business to get this version ready for everyone.
It took us much longer than we anticipated (partially because many of us - to this day - highly enjoy playing PoE2
and coding takes a back seat on some days; partially because it was the Holiday Season; and partially because GGG did not provide us with a Passive Skill Tree and the assets we normally have, so we had to go dig them up).
The tree looks much nicer now than it did in PoB 1 though!

With the release of PoB for PoE 2, we have decided to partner with Maxroll so we will be able to provide the community with some much-requested features that we were not able to achieve alone / in a reasonable time frame.
We've added Maxroll as a site that you can export and import your builds from. You can see a nice overview of all your gear and gems and we're looking to enhance the experience as time goes on
We have some big plans for the future and can't wait to let you know when we're ready
Supported features:
- PoE2 Passive Skill Tree and "most" Ascendancy support (including Weapon Set Skill Points)
- Support for Attribute Switching on small passive tree nodes
- Basic support for most Skills and Supports gems with Stat Sets breakdowns for skills with multiple parts or effects
- Support for many (possibly all) known unique items (outside of skills granted by items as previously mentioned)
- Re-coded ailment calculations formula
- Much improved skill tree rendering engine
- Rune & Soul Core support
- Spirit and Spirit Reservation
- First-pass of an updated Configuration pane
Not supported yet
- Character Importing (GGG has not yet enabled the API that will allow us to import characters)
- Meta Skills / Trigger Skills damage calculation - this needs an entire overhaul we didn't have time to do thus far
- Skill Combos - it is our hope in the future to implement the concepts of "rotations" in a given skill (e.g., Tempest Flurry: normal strike -> normal strike -> third strike -> final strike -- that is the rotation of holding down the skill button in-game, each one has slightly different speed, modifiers, and damage potential; we plan to enable calculation of the DPS of a "rotation" in the future)
- Weapon Set Swap combos
- Support for all Nodes / Modifiers / Ascendancies (many are supported, but not all - follow the logic of "if a modifier on an item, tree node or ascendancy node is 'blue coloured' we parse it and hopefully support it if it's 'red coloured' we do not."
- Proper support for Skills granted by Items (we still need to complete the process of fully removing the concept of skill gems being tied to item sockets that was in PoE1 to allow for this, we just ran out of time)
- Map Mods
- Boss Skills
New Hotkeys
- Right-clicking a node on the tree will allocate all the attribute nodes with the last used attribute without needing a popup
- Alt + scroll on the skill tree allows you to select the weapon set to allocate with. We don't have support for the weapon set passives working with different gems yet
- When allocating attribute passives or a node that would allocate attributes in its patch, hold 1/I for Intelligence 2/S for Strength and 3/D for Dex
There's going to be a lot of bugs as many of you have already realised. We'll be working hard to get them fixed with a bunch of patches

Do you or your contributors take tips? Y'all have worked hard to turn out a whole new release while juggling life and POE2 itself.
Well, this will take time to get on the same level als PoB1. But god damn, it already looks very pretty.

Iβm sure youβre going to be getting swarmed with bug reports the next few hours, days and monthsβ¦
But archmage is not working properly and is kind of the first issue I found with this right off the bat.
PoB also seems to think I have 2.5k mana regen but only 1015 in game. Iβm sure the list will grow.

Might be a stupid question, but is there a tutorial for PoB? Or at least for the first one? It is a bit overwhelming for a first time player.
I think Sceptre items with "Grants Skill: Level (1-20) Skeletal Warrior" need to be updated to "Grants Skill: Level (1-20) Skeletal Warrior Minion" . As it stands right now, the text is red and does nothing. It doesn't even show the slider to allow modification between 1-20.
When I manually entered "{range:0.22}Grants Skill: Level (1-20) Skeletal Warrior Minion" the text turned blue on the item seemingly indicating a proper skill name, when I save the item it correctly tries to add to my skills, but then I get a crash.
As a newbie, is this something I should make a new character for?
I will download this and use it obviously but why maxroll and not mobalytics? The build creators I follow aren't on maxroll but on mobalytics. Or are you planning to add mobalytics later? If no, isn't this similar to when PoB for PoE1 tried to integrate with another build site and then, abandoned it after community backlash?

Great work guys
Ported my character in and noticed that some of the nodes I took while appearing blue are not being counted on my character unless I put them under Custom Modifiers. For example I have Bloodletting, Aggravation, Bleeding Out clusters and none of the bleed related modifiers are added to my attack/damage calculation but the Poison chance from my jewels are being counted.
Also for some strange reason alot of the nodes on my tree have +3% Chaos Resistance and +3% Cold Resistance XD no idea why but... I made a new tree and its gone so... weird|
Edit 2: Now I have my bleed baked in wit hthe custom modifiers but my poison dps disappeared XD
Seems quite buggy at the moment, which is unexpected given the sheer number of effects available, so I guess I'll just use as a regular skill tree planner for now instead of a web version. Still quite helpful.
I see that the support for skills granted by items is not fully implemented yet, so would that be why I am unable to assign support gems to Decompose granted by Corpsewade?
On a similar not, and I might be overlooking/misreading the notes above, but how do you assign support gems to a skill that is granted by a node? I'm running a Poisonous Concoction Pathfinder build and it correctly adds Poisonous Concoction to my list of skills, but I cannot figure out how to add support gems.
ggg hate pathfinder and conc but please i would like to see some love for it atleast here, in pob conc dosent scale with anything, only flat dmg increases my pob shows im at 30k dps when ingame tooltips says 1m
I have a few questions about this... i recreated my character (as fas as possible, bloodmage seems to be missing) but many skill tree points gave me cold and chaos resistance for some reason?
Im assuming thats a bug...
But more importantly, how does pob handle stuff like is 60% more freeze chance worth more than 40% projectile damage? Same for shock etc.
How does it value stuff like crit chance and damage vs full life enemies or shocked enemies etc, so all the conditionals.
How does it incorporate heralds into the damage calculations? Did add nothing for me, despite wind dancer working for some reason even though its just as conditional, if not more...
Or does this tool only / mainly work for straight damage builds without any conditional shenanigans?

I like that there's an exporter, but the tool itself was always independent with no affiliations.
How should I add fire exposure from oil grenades to my gas gren explosion dps? And using flammability aura doesnt seem to effect the dps any way

Every time I've tried to save builds/settings, it is giving this error where the folder/file doesn't exist (even though I've created one) and it has two forward slashes in the window where it is impossible when creating folders.
