Invoker monk, cast on shock + eye of winter

20

Hi, i use a level 96 SC invoker monk. I'm curious about cast on shock + eye of winter tech and have many questions.

  1. Is eye of winter mainly used to hit the tempest bell as many times as possible? Crit buff is nice but secondary right?

  2. Everytime eye of winter triggers via cast on shock, does it cost mana as if I'm manually clicking on the eye of winter spell?

  3. If answers to 1 and 2 is yes. Should I just use a level 13 eye of winter gem with inspiration support to drastically reduce mana cost vs bosses?

I'm able to do difficulty 4 breach pinnacle but mana is sometimes a problem.

Hey, if u are using cast on shock with a spell, it costs you mana, but you don't press any button to cast it. Im also playing a invoker m9nk and having some issues with 4th tier pinnacle bosses. Could you please share your build?

  1. The crit buff is not secondary at all. Critical weakness gives 10% BASE crit, meaning it gets scaled by your inc crit chance modifiers (on tree and gear). That's a lot.

  2. Yes, triggered spells cost mana just like selfcast ones.

  3. I dont think there's a huge reason to use max level eow. Might as well use a lower level one to save some mana if you want. But its usually not triggering THAT often, so it shouldnt make a massive difference.

As someone mentioned, the crit debuff is huge and depending on your build can potentially give you close to 100% crit if your build has a lot without it. I use the lowest level I can for it, and it's still a drain because you proc shocks off the bell and the boss, so it triggers a lot.

What supports are you using on tempest fury? Do you have any phys to mana leech? I usually will throw crescendo or inspiration into my ice strike if it feels like the mana is off but you'd be better off with some mana leech on rings. (I have it on both my rings and my qs so I no longer have issues just straight frying)
