PSA / Warning for new players, people trading in Global are usually scamming. See pics

No i didn't get scammed by this guy (the amulet i linked isn't even the same implcit), Yes i know it's obviously not Astramentis (new players might not know this). Yes i've already reported him. He's been doing this for weeks, I've reported him everytime i catch him admitting its Astramentis (100divs off normal price) and not the amulet he is linking. Chat Mods don't seem to care and obviously he's tricked a few people already because he's changed the amulet. I can tell because the implicit number is different every so often and he keeps attempting it, suggesting he's been successful at least a few times.
Also it's kinda funny that the name of the real amulet is named "StruggleScream" lol
Just trying to lookout for new players. Good luck Exiles

I was nearly scammed by a dude who was giving me an L20 Skill Gem instead of an L20 Spirit Gem... a good thing I actually read the label, it's not like I'm that focused on seeing whether the icon has that gold band around it or not
As far as I know GGG said we are responsible for trades we do. So even if you got scammed, it was your fault for not checking the thing you get.
That's why I think it is hilarious that people in trade chat offering Trial carries will report you if you don't pay afterwards. Sure it's not cool if you don't, but you can't get punished for it.
Slxlove making it all the way to Reddit. We roast the fuck out of him whenever he stops by our global.
Why did you block his name. Slxlove (probably) he's been at it for weeks along with a few others
Some guy was selling 17 essence of lightning for 2 exalts each the other day, I bought all of them and sold instantly on the currency exchange for 7 each. I felt bad
I bought an uncorrupted Morior with +attributes/+resistances for 26d the other night. This was about 4-5d under market for corrupted, but well under market since it was uncorrupted. I thought I'd get lucky assuming the seller didn't know uncorrupted was worth more since you can still corrupt and hope for 5 sockets.
We met. He put the item in, I check and double check and it's legit. I put the divs in, check again and looks good. Hit accept, felt kind of happy because I "scored" a deal. Then a sense of dread hit because you don't really get great deals much in PoE.
I look again. I just paid 26d for a +max mana/+max resist. He swapped them while I was putting the divs in since that requires you to take your eyes off the trade window for a couple seconds.
It hurt. Don't do like I did. Fwiw, I've played off and on since 2013 and this is the first time I've fallen for the item swap scam. Nobody is immune even if they know better. It just takes one slip up.
I see that dude in global 22 every day. I report him every day. Him and another guy with foreign characters as his name. Daily for at least 10 days I see that and people in global chats offering to buy items in bulk for like a third of current value.
Que más da si nunca vamos a juntar tantos divs xD
What’s the big deal regarding this amulet?
This is one of the worst aspects of soft core trade league. Because new players play this league and I had to turn the trade chat off because it is CONSTANTLY scamming. The biggest one is " buying divines for 75 ex!" The new players usually don't even know about currency exchange I think GGG should add something in the trade window with the current exchange rate on currency and maybe even some average prices for items. That one would be hard but if I was a casual and played for a month to get an item then get screwed on it and find out another month later that would suck.
I hate the trading system because it's built in a way where scamming/manipulation is possible.
Like I got white stellar amulets, heard they are valuable. I as a fairly new player to the genre am not sure on pricing stuff, I've read here you should check down the list but so many scammers have underpriced the listing that you scroll through so many low deals people trying to make you believe it's worth.
Okay, maybe I should reverse search and see it from the higher range. I assume it's the same people who have figured this out, and have just done the same. The top prices have people listing them for mirrors or other absurd amounts.
So you have to try and some how find the middle point as someone who is somewhat new to the trading system.
There are so many hurdles to jump to try and trade...
Can astramentis be a drop or is it only from chance orbs
To all new players: do yourself a favor and turn off trade chat and ignore anyone trying to trade in global, they are trying to rip you off
Bro tryna sell you a PS5 by sending a PS3, PS2, and a roll of duct tape
Yeah and I'm also going crazy about people listing stuff on trade site for example 5 divs and then immediately asking for double that in chat. Like thats not how it works and this should not become the norm
Unfortunately working as intended.
Spending so much time to scam players instead of doing something good. Waste of space on Earth
Every time I see someone post buying divs for exalts or something stupid that’s half the price of what Alva does I immediately post for new players don’t trade them use the currency conversion instead. You have to have zero life to be scamming in a video game
I realized this as soon as I started going for bigger value trades.
People will try to scam over a 20 div item (only happened a couple of times) and as soon as you get to like 50-60 div value items, like half of the items up for sale is just people trying to scam.
They undercut by like 6-8 divs instead of just 1-2 and it makes it so much more obvious.
Its like this guy posting unidentified astramentis for 180 div when most where 240-250..
Like bro, you couldnt be any more obvious if you tried..
Scamming people actually pays the best amount, even in real life. That’s why so many phone/messenger scammers
Chris and Jonathan love to see this! Players interact with each other via trade, and that's why poe1 trade system hasn't changed for more than 10 years. Love getting ignored and almost getting scammed!
I don't understand how these scams work, they seriously think someone won't check the item before trading?
im like: huh? no idea what u all talking about being hardcore ssf.
On other hand no one having 180 div through legitimate means would get scammed that way anyway.
That's why I reverse scam the trade scammers advertising their ridiculous prices. Thanks for the free ascendancy, nerd. Instant blocked and they still went on another character to cry in my whispers. That's what you get 🤷♂️
Starting to learn GGG does not give a single fuck about most things, scamming going on and being a pretty serious issue with insanely simple fixes other games have had for decades, Elon at the inauguration while also mapping at the same STILL not banned, console mobs having literally invisible attacks eg Candlemass fire laser.
People can shit on D4 all they like but I find myself thinking more and more, at least shit works. Like I can put on armour and know it will be adding to my defence in the long-term not just fall off a cliff.
Scammers allowed in chat but i use 1 le toucan and get muted for 3 days. Seems legit
I sell/trade my shit via alva. But if you whisper me about some random soul core i have in my 1div dump tab, i will sell it to you, followed by me using that 1 div to buy 5 more of the soul cores via alva..
And blame GGG for not checking the item before the trade.
You know scammers are out there; you tried to snipe cheaply and greedily. You got scammed. Hope everyone learns to protect themselves.
Is it that Chinese guy? 😂
Seen him couple of times in my chat
SSF is the only way to go!
Trade chat is even worth, there's not a single person there actually wanting to trade, they all just try to buy stuff was below market value.
Any tips on new players getting 100 divines?
Most new players wont be able to afford astraments
This has always been the case with people selling items in trade chat. There is absolutely no reason to do it. When people want items, they will buy them off the site. It's either scammers, or people that don't even have a premium stash tab. I don't want to deal with either one.
Honestly, a player that has 100 div should really REALLY know better...
Still a scammer that should be reported. But man I don't think he'll ever pull that one off.
People reporting people for scamming are so cute.
It’s part of the game. Stop being a moral busybody and get over it.
Related: never accept an unidentified Unique in trade. That's also a common way scammers try to get you.
this just makes me think back to the days of putting emeralds in leather caps, selling them off as shako's lol good ol d2 days.... playing on a 17 inch CRT. :)
Huh, i normally post there for the few things i sell and dnt scam, good to spread this info though, i was keeping an eye on there for items lol
I was about to post something similar yesterday. My buddy got tricked out of 200 div with the same unidentified amulet that turned out to be strugglescream. When we did a trade search for “astramentis” the same seller had other unidentified stellar amulets for sale. I feel like GGG is partly to blame for allowing those unidentified items to come up on search for “astramentis” since new players might not know the difference.
Omg yes I keep seeing this guy in chat linking that unidentified amulet. I was thinking “why is he flexing that worthless garbage” but I didn’t think people would believe it was astramentis
Noob question here. So I have given up on just loot dropping and able to play nicely. I think without trade I can’t play properly( can’t even kill boss on normal acts) So my question is how to trade? If we can’t use the trade site? I mean scammers can try and get my 4 exalt orbs lol.

"GGG wants players to be able to easily rip each other off if they're new to trading, that's a good experience that will make people want to continue to engage with it." - said nobody ever
And thr ones trading in Trade are undercutting you
Devs don't care, support won't help or do anything. They only care about RMT, if it's not RMT, it's fair game.
Scammers are scum, but really, who really wants to trade in Global chat of all places. Global chat is infested with all kinds of degeneracy and scamming so its not suprising to me at all that people are getting scammed.
It definitely does look at least somewhat close to astramentis unfortunately. RIP to those who got scammed, is this what people call penny wise pound foolish? For thinking you could get a 50% or more discount on asstramantits.
Also just trade off trade chat, like trade chat is many other games, notably warframe, its just 49% scammers, 49% flippers and 2% clueless and lost there.
Who in the PoE has 100 div lying around but not enough common sense to know the item they are trying to buy?
