Spark Stormweaver Damage Help
Hello all,
I am currently playing a Spark Stormweaver build that following the following build guide from CaptinLance.
I am struggling with increasing my build's damage. This is mostly in part to my lack of game knowledge on scaling. I have posted previously and got some great feedback regarding two pieces of my gear, which I have since upgraded (boots and gloves). However, I seem to not fully grasp all of the mechanics that aid in scaling, as I am still struggling with increasing my damage.
Here is my Path of Building (POB): https://pobb.in/5wMM-aQ6L72K
Previously, I attempted to increase my damage by using a shield of Mahuxotl with three rune sockets, 500% soul core effect, and three 2% maximum mana soul cores. However, this resulted in less spark dps when compared to my current focus. (EDIT: I have only attempted to calculate this within POB, which might be why the dps was off.)
I feel like I am at a standstill when it comes to increasing my DPS. I am not sure what to target/focus when looking for gear upgrades. Everything I seem to try, when updating and playing with my POB, results in less spark dps.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to increase my damage?
Anything would be helpful; thank you in advance.

I have noticed that with my spark archmage, that there does seem to be a wall you hit. To get over that wall is prohibitively expensive. Mines right around 40k dps in game.
With Mahuxotl itβs a case of more is better. 90% more mana is great if you have 10k mana. But if you have 3000 then itβs much less. How much mana do you have before Mahuxotl?
The breakpoint seems to come from getting your mana into the 6000 mark before exploding upwards. To get there, energy shield on all your gear is king. That and flat mana on all your gear. If ur already in the 3000 to 4000 mana range, itβs only going to be tiny increments until you get an ingenuity or a godlike wand/focus. Just gotta keep plugging away at it, you are in the real grind now.
You said you looked at using Mahuxotl in PoB, PoB currently doesn't include the "increased effect of soul cores" mod, so you have to add that in manually under custom configs. My 650% 2 soul core Mahu was about 600 extra mana compared to a 373 ES focus once I added in the custom config, a 500% 3 socket Mahu should be even better. You can also look at using an Against the Darkness with 1% mana per small notable where you have Apocalypse Drop over by Branching Bolts, I took all 3 of those lightning nodes for an extra 8% mana, for me currently thats worth about 300 mana alone
small edit here: 3 socket Mahu may be less damage still for you due to having +2 on focus and other damage mods, but the more flat mana you get the more mana the shield will give so it might be worth it long term
more edits: Something else you want is a level 21 Archmage, the easy way to do it is to create the lowest level Archmage available (I think this is uncut level 7, not fully sure) and give it 20% quality, then vaal it for +1 level. From there you can use an uncut spirit gem level 19 to upgrade it to 19. This will make it level 20 via corruption and 21 from Lightning Mastery support gem. Voltaic Mark if you can get the dex is also great, it increases the effect of shocks on it by 30% without quality and 45% with quality. This allows me 44% shocks which is a good damage boost, but it takes 52 dex unless you corrupt it down a level, which is always an option since levels for it only scales the nova damage and we dont care about that at all. I also suggest getting a Chiming Staff on weapon swap for Sigil of Power, you would prefer getting one that has level 18 Sigil of Power and +3 to all spell skills so it gets to level 21 as at 18 it gives 14% more spell damage per stage and at 21 it gives 15% more spell damage per stage, up to you if you want to deal with that or not though!
I suspect a lot of your issue is with consistency and not strickly dps, you only have a 17% crit chance and a lot of your damage is tied into crit I imagine it feels very bad when you have a bad luck streak and don't crit. I think it would be better for you to either drop the crit nodes or invest higher into crit, a similar weapon but with 80%+ spell crit chance added on would help you consistently hit the crits.
Some other things, you amulet is minimum roll and has no annoint, a higher roll would get you more es, which would also let you not need as much es as stun threshold power letting you invest that somewhere else and still resist stuns fairly well. Also a really cheap annoint like Heavy Ammunition would be 5.8% dps for you and cost basically nothing.
Your jewels are also pretty bad, you have so many jewel slots but jewels only account for 15% of your characters damage even with 7 of them. Jewels like empyrean desire or apocalypse drop are more what you want. Also foe ruin has a lot of potential you should exalt it immediately it could be your best jewel if the exalt hits. Exalt apocalypse drop as well.
Lots of small gear improvments also go a long way, your chest and helmet could be higher es. You also want higher resistances so that you can use iron runes or the 2% mana core on your gear instead of resist runes.
