elemental invocation energy gain question
I'm a little confused as to how elemental invocation energy gain works (and cast on shock/ignite/freeze). The buff reads as gain energy with when freezing, igniting, and shocking with hits. I've been using it and goes crazy when bossing, but I thought i can only freeze/shock/ignite a single target every few seconds. How is it generating energy so much energy when the boss is already frozen/shocked/ignited? Does it generate energy as if applying these ailments with the damage I deal?
Additionally, would something like endless circuit (25% chance to consume shock to reapply it) or total incineration (10% chance to refresh ignite duration on crit hit) have any effect on energy generation with elemental invocation (or cast on shock/ignite respectively)?
Finally, if anyone has any good ideas on how to test these kinds of things other than just running doryani and going frame by frame on the replay, please let me know.

You shock a lot more often than you think, the chance is dictated by your lightning damage, and on bosses, the energy gained is multiplied by 20x
Frozen cannot be frozen but ignited can be ignited and shocked can be shocked. So more attack/cast speed or an enemy gain support is the way to build more energy after you hit the threshold to apply the affliction consistently.
