It depends entirely on where you’re putting it, how many points you’re saving by using it, how good the nodes you’re able to take are, and how bad the resistance reduction is.

Assuming you can still cap resistances and you’re grabbing things useful to your build, it’s probably more likely useful than not, but it’s hard to grade without a specific example.

I used a controlled metamorphosis on my ice strike monk at the very top of the skill tree. Not sure the radius, but I followed spud the king’s 3 element monk build

For non stacker, which you’re running, it’s best value is around Falcon Technique area. They’re also significantly cheaper now (if running CI, you don’t care about the -Chaos Resist roll), since many have switched over to stacker and breachstones have gone down in price.

Controlled metamorphosis is worth using basically 100% of the time, it's just about finding the most valuable spot. Passive points are an insanely valuable currency, and this jewel can save like 8-10 of them.
