Compiled evidence of what to expect in 0.2.0 update and economy reset
I’ve noticed both in game in global chat, and in this subreddit there seems to be a lot of confusion about exactly what might be in store for us in 0.2.0. They have not explicitly said much necessarily, but there is a ton of communication from the devs about what to expect both recently and in the past.
I’ve seen people claiming 0.2.0 is just the races, I’ve seen people think it’s just the uniques, and a lot of people don’t think we’re in store for an economy reset. I cannot guarantee we are as it has not been stated explicitly, but I have compiled some statements and information to hopefully get us all on the same page about what we should be prepared for approximately late march. Hopefully this helps some fellow exiles plan accordingly, and generates some more hype over 0.2.0!
0.2 is not races. You can see the post here
while the team are working hard on the 0.2.0 content update, which we expect to release in one month, we’ll be running a series of races starting March 2nd
Here’s the link where they discuss what to expect in 0.2.0 at the bottom.
these are the biggest issues we think we can’t solve without a major update.…Major balance issues with many player skills / builds, both too high and too low…And so these are the things that we expect to improve in 0.2.0
And finally, Jonathan saying they can’t fix balance issues without a new economy #1 and Jonathan saying they can’t fix balance issues without a new economy #2.
This isn’t necessarily everything I’m sure, but in my opinion is enough to verify that at the very least 0.2.0 is going to be a nice, fairly large update that will shake things up quite a bit and likely will be an economy reset!
TL;DR: you should definitely vaal that 100div piece of gear

Just give me my druid and another story Act and I'll play another 300hours
The duality of the playerbase
Thanks for heads up!
We have a lot of new players here so they are not sure what even an economy reset means.
In addition keep in mind that developers have version structure x.y (currently 0.x.y -> 0.1.1). X-stands for major version like new league (new league = economy reset) and Y- stands for minor version like patch.
Economy reset means new league. New league means new mechanics, items, balances. It also means you need to create a new character for that league. Characters are tied to a league, after league ends they are/can be migrated to standard (permanent) league. All stashes and other micro transactions are available in new league abd they will be empty for new loot (Old loot stays in permanent league in take-out only stash).
In the tavern talk they said they would nerf and reset at the next content drop. If 0.2 is new content then a reset will be with it.
People just don't listen man. Thanks for this, very useful!
It's important to clarify that players won't lose their characters or items. They'll just be moved to an "eternal" realm and the standard realm will start fresh.
You're right! The only big things confirmed are an economy reset and balance changes. They've also HEAVILY HINTED at the Druid and Huntress alongside their associated skills, as those were nearly ready for the early access launch and can be considered "content". I am also keen to see Act 4 and some additions to endgame (like Breach/Ritual/etc, maybe get Harvest in there????).
Additionally, I'll be chatting with GGG live sometime after the official announcement, so if there's anything else people would like to dive into, I'll be posting a question thread here once the date is confirmed. Looking to get as much info as possible!
Regardless, super excited for 0.2.0.
If they drop more weapons and classes, I will play. If not, I will wait. Simple as that.
If they don't reset in 2.0 nobody would even come back lol.
I hope they release Druid, Huntress, Act 4 and some endgame tweaks/content or people will not be interested for long. 3 months after another 2 classes, Act 5 and again more endgame content.
What's the point of teasing a gladiator themed unique and not releasing the archetype itself?
Daggers, swords. Cyclone, Cobra lash and Venom gyre. TM "soon" another 6 months.
Forgot some big ones:
-They said they want to focus full manpower on 0.2.0 and after it, focus some on PoE1's new expansion, which implies 0.2.0 will be big content
-They talked about deciding how to release the last acts of the campaign on the interview they did with DM and Ghazzy
Can they do an economy reset without starting a new league? I don't see how it would work if we stayed in standard... They'd need to remove the characters too. I don't think new players would like everything going poof.
Don't forget about 2 AWESOME UNIQUES THEY'VE TEASED UPDATE WITH.
Seriously I have no fucking idea how come NOBODY stopped people from posting those 2 garbage items as teaser of a update.
Until they add huntress, or really any other weapon/class, the game really doesn’t suck me in right now. Pretty much all the ascendancies im interested in are half baked, and I’m still salty that dark monk is just less effective invoker until they add non poison chaos damage.
If .2.0 doesn’t have something like that, why not just wait lol
For me economy reset only make sense on a separate league. It's a alpha, people are testing stuff. If they reset every 3 months, most player base will not have the will to hoard resource to test endgame stuff. New 'instance' as a league would be another history tho.
Fix the garbage end game and people will come back
Ive never played POE1 and Idk much about that event their doing but reading from it I think they should expand on the amount of winners by adding more winners just by having one for each ascendancy instead of just the class.
I doubt they will wipe standard just after giving Demigods (and not MTX) on races. If there will really be a economy reset on 0.2.0, I guess it would be a temporary league and not a wipe.
But I bet that it will be just additional content (new ascendencies, skills and weapons), and they will delay the economy reset for later with temporary content for a new league.
What worries me is that they don't mention crafting as one of the games problems, while it clearly is one of them
Apparently, they like gambling and not being deterministic at all
Isn’t every season an economy reset ? And the stuff from the past season gets moved to the standard game ? This is what Diablo ist doing and doing a complete reset wouldn’t make any sense right
Just give me mines and traps with Shadow please
Wait, there are people who think 0.2 won't be an economy reset and that it would be just races? Like actual human beings with functioning brains? wild
When are you picking the winner for your giveaway….
I just want them to fix the Xbox account issues. When I installed and started playing, I expected it to link to my current Xbox live account. When I log into there site I can't sync a loot filter, no characters display in the account settings, and Xbox cannot launch the trade website. My MS account claims there no GGG account linked and When I try to link the GGG acount GGG has a pop up saying there is already one linked to my MS account.
I stopped playing until it's fixed. I have had a support email pending since early January.
I just want my points from Ps5 store...
Getting genuinely frustrated I can't buy a map stash tab after spending 40 bucks and have 0 points to show from it.
I'm rapidly running out of tab space trying to store my t15's only
eh. they already said 0.2 is a content update. and its a pretty massive update so
If they reset I am staying in eternal I don’t have time to start over every 3 months in EA
It angers me that players have to compile this and the devs seem incapable of providing a comprehensive roadmap and/or timeline.
What are we in store for with an economy reset? I’ve been lucky enough to find three div by level 72. Traded one for exalt so have 250+ of those laying around as well. Will I be saying goodbye to my orbs but keeping my gear?
Much like the other guy said, give me The Huntress and a new act and I’ll also be good for another 300 hours
0.2.0 will just be two "new" Uniques (cheeks), economy reset, bug fixes
Can someone explain to me how vault works for new leagues? Like, I create another char, how does it interact with my extra vault slots? Also, when the new league transfer my char to this eternal realm, the items I got from this new league how does it add up to my stash
balance, reset are not attractive enough. new content, new classes are the way to get ppl back.
I’m excited for daggers, better loot in general (relative to character level) and actually useful crafting.
Nerfs always come with a reset.
I think every time they add a new act they will do a reset. So 3 more acts, 3 more resets before the game is "finished." Just my hunch.
TBH I don't care about new classes or balance changes or an economy reset as much as I care about improving the endgame systems and adding better itemization/crafting.
What exactly does “economy reset” mean? Am I to expect my currency tab to be empty when they reset the economy? I don’t get what that means at all.
If they add shadow my life is theirs. Or at least daggers so I can do dagger monk until shadow comes.
Honestly they need to go back to nerfing/buffing mid league otherwise alot of stuff isn't going to be fixed by release
GGG said many things
Hope they release some of the new weapons!
Better come with Druid and or Huntress, is my biggest concern. If it doesn’t, then I’ll be taking a long break.
There absolutely has to be an economy reset. Inflation is out of control at this point.
I would love an economy reset, fresh start is the best.
On the other hand my friend that is pretty new to ARPG's said that there is no way he will level up new character, cause the previous campaign took him like 40 hours (tbh act 3 was too long/big imo)
Ancient crisis frags are 800 ex per and people think the economy isn’t going to be reset?
Why do people who started playing a month ago think they know more than people who played for 15 leagues 😂
I need changes to crafting and end game. Another class doesn’t solve anything.
