Lead me through Grace- A noob’s regret

05

Hey, super noob here. I just got my first ascendancy and chose lead me through grace, which I’m regretting because I feel like it’s killing the amount of spirit (lvl 39) I could be getting from gear. I have HoI, HoT, Grim feast, and combat frenzy as buffs.

I just found ghostwrithe tattered robes, which I improved to 11% because it’s my best source of ES, and I have a decent amount of ES and evasion on the rest of my gear. But my spirit is 53 so I can’t run more than 2 of my buffs. What can I do to improve my spirit at this point?

Option 1: don't use Ghostwrithe

Option 2: respec your ascendancy passives at the Hooded One

U can reassign ascendancy points similar to passive points with the hooded one. That being said, that node gets better as u progress and u should get a good base number of spirit just doing the campaign.

Yeah, that talent sucks if using ghostwrithe. I have a chest piece with 1200 Evasion and 500 ES, I have both Herald of Ice and Thunder, blink which is 60 spirit cost, Grim Feast, Spirit Dance, Combat Frenzy, and I think that's it. Mega OP for sure.

The downside is with charged staff, I pretty much had a 1 button build and bell. So I opted for Unset Rings and got some really wild rolls on 2 of them. Like 30% Cold Damage, 29% Lightning Damage, 3-56 lightning added damage, 20% all res, and 35int and Dex on one and similar on the other.

So now I can have Falling Thunder or Flicker Strike and also have Hand of Chalupa, which, with Blink, lets me pop in and out of fights. Really good against bosses and it was really annoying having tons of skill gems in my backpack I had to swap out over and over.

Everything in this game is a positive and a negative. With tons of spirit you are definitely stronger, but then the game becomes incredibly boring to actually play, since passives add literally nothing to gameplay dynamics, except for Combat Frenzy kind of, but not really in the way I am talking about.

Early on, I wouldn't put much into it. One of my favorites is honestly meditate. You need to get an offhand that gives +spells and %recharge rate, then use the dual talent weapon points to go toward the North West on the talent tree, towards Witch, and get as much %recharge rate as possible. If you do that, then meditate gives you 200% ES in about 1.5 seconds. No joke. You can infinitely sustain against bosses. Grim is nice for mapping, but you can give up Grim and just spend 1.5 seconds between packs. It becomes habitual quickly and that much ES (I have 8,5k atm maxed out with Meditate) with 85% evasion and 82% armor and max res. I haven't died in a very, very long time beyond a very select handful of fights.

I switched to it after I got some pretty high ES rolls on gear, and it became better than the spirit I was getting. I run like 5 or 6 upkeeps on my monk and have like 8 leftover.
