Finally got back in my account after a month! Was it Sidekick?

no clue what sidekick is but going off of their mail Im assuming it was a tool that was automatically moving items into the trade window which is against the TOS

The truth is there's no such thing as a "GGG sanctioned" trade tool. Any tool that interacts with the trade API runs the risk of this issue. I had my account locked in a similar situation two years ago for the PoE1 version of Exile Exchange (Awakend PoE Trade).

It could be you used it in a weird way, or that there was a bug with the version you were running that did something which looked like a ToS violation - but it also could just be that you tripped a heuristic security check with some terrible luck.

Sidekick (and similar tools) aren't necessarily against ToS but there's always a small chance this can happen. I still use 3rd party trade tools after my experience, but it's a risk because if it happens to you multiple times it's not impossible that you might get unfairly banned for it. Personally I would recommend going with Exiled Exchange over Sidekick - I think they do similar things and Exiled Exchange is based off a PoE1 tool that has been around much longer.

Were you using the macros that come with Sidekick? I've noticed that the people that have something happen to their account due to Sidekick/Awakened is because they used the macros. Path of Building should be fine though since it just uses the public API to access your character stats and gear and doesn't directly interact with the game itself.

I thought GGG provided the APIs for things like POB and Neversink filters directly to the developers. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

As for trade APIs like sidekick/awakened poe, etc... I've used them for literally years (awakened poe specifically). I've seen numerous posts that it does and doesn't break TOS. Still to this day I don't know if it does or not.

Most people always say to err on the side of caution with trade APIs though.

Reasons why I used sidekick is when using awakened trade in poe 1 and exiledexchange in poe 2, they would automatically shut off frame generation (afmf in amd). Sidekick however, will not.

What the flying fuck if so, im waiting for a refund and have been for actual months with only 1 reply 2 months ago asking for account details.

i played with sidekick at least 2 weeks, nothing happened.
do you use any cheat software for other games?

all these apps for trading and pricing give me huge bad vibes...a long time ago I used awakened poe and the overlay stuff but I'll pass, I rather be clueless about pricing

Sidekick dev here. Prople had concerns in december when some accounts were hacked. GGG has responded to this, and Sidekick wasn't the cause. Here is our statement regarding security concerns:
