Game is unplayable due to network spikes

I just started with PoE2 and have been excited to try it after spending a good thousand hours in PoE1, and was really looking foreward to have a crack at it. As I started going through the first few zones of the game I noticed some insane lag. Not lag due to hardware, but network lag as seen in the video.
I've tried googling the issue for a bit, and can't find anything that helps me solve it. The game is more or less impossible to play as it freezes upwards to 10+ seconds at times. Doing later game content seems impossible with this lag. The first couple of bosses were pretty forgiving, so that went ok despite the lag.
I have no issues with any other game I play. I've had youtube videos up on the side, twitch streams, running different speedtests and connection diagnostics tools on the side while this is happening, without any of those showing any spikes or unreliable connection. I am playing wired though, as I've done forever and it has never been an issue. I have a 300/300 connection with full signal strength on my computer.
Does anyone have any tips or tricks that could potentially solve it? (And yes, I've chosen the closest server to me)
It's doubtfully a HW related issue as I'm running with a i9-14900f, 4070 Ti super, 48gb 7k mhz ram and with the game running on a SSD.
As mentioned, this has never happened with any other game with the exact setup I have currently.
Any tips, tricks and ideas for the issue are greatly appreciated! I am for the time being not able to test with a wired connection, but as mentioned, I've always played on wireless without issues.

As weird as it may sound : Try different servers.
Yes you may end up with worse latency but it should be fine.
I dont know at what server you are at currently but there are certain times when servers seem to be overloaded be it due to maintaince, high population or whatever other problem may be happeing currently. Im on EU servers and i swap between frankfurt and amsterdam and most of the time thats enough if one of the servers is iffy BUT there are times when i have to jump on US or BR server as ALL EU servers are unplayable.
You can also try testing lockstep or whatever the other option was predictive or somthing and see how that feels.

Edit: I am playing wireless, not wired! but as mentioned, never had a problem with any games in terms of network lag.
I had major issues when I first started playing with WiFi, 99% signal strength, 1800/1800 link. Game was constantly pausing itself, stutters and jitters. I havenβt had a single issue since switching to Ethernet.
packet loss maybe?
Yeah server has been shitt since last night
Some instances like in PoE 1 can just be bad. Maybe you got unlucky and had multiple bad instances or currently the way instances are being created cause more issues.
Probably solved in a few days max, as long as your PC and connection doesn't have any major issue.
This is due to packet loss at your interest provider side. At least in my case, this is the reason for such lags. The netcode of the game is very bad in this regard and requires an extremely stable network connection. I hope they will fix this in the next patches, because I don't experience such problems in other games, even in poe1.
Servers have been noticeably bad in both games recently. Noticed since Friday. GGG servers have always had a bad reputation with their ups and downs, server lag and desync.Β
this isn't the same as hitting a breach and having frames drop from 140+ to 4.5 is it?
I was wondering about this yesterday when I was playing. I was getting these lag spikes but only in public games. When it was just me solo it wasn't a problem. But sitting in town or in public games there would be so much lag with things. Especially just moving things around in my UI. Ping would go into the triple digits.
I had this exact same issue at launch for the first month until I quit for the season. Anxious that this isn't going to be fixed in 0.2 for me i've tried all of the solutions other commentors have posted with no luck either, other than replacing the whole ass ethernet cable i'll give that a try if it pops up in 0.2
This has been a long standing issue for certain internet providers. Here is a 6 year old thread about this. GGG hasn't bothered to fix this and i am not expecting that it ever will be fixed at this point. The only thing that helped for me was using a VPN.
