Is it even possible to level up as a [mostly] EQ warrior? (this is a genuine cry for help ðŸ˜)
I'm close to the end of act 3 normal as a warrior since I wanted to try it out to see if I'd play him in the next patch - the fantasy of setting everything up for a single, huge slam in EQ to delete enemies sounds fun to me, class-fantasy wise.
But seriously how do people use Earthquake in the early game/campaign? I'm not even joking when I say that my damage might as well be negative, even when combining EQ with Shield Wall + Infernal Cry + Volcanic Fissure + shredding some armor (and even trying using a totem alongside everything).
A non-socketed Shield Charge deals more single target damage in boss fights than my jewelered-up EQ.
What's the secret to using this skill early I don't get it. Couldn't even kill Mektul in time before he reached the end 💀. It's a skill that's given to the player right away, it can't be that it gets useful later on, doesn't make sense.
I specifically want to level in the way where I'm setting up a huge combo specifically for EQ to deal damage - I'm not interested in Boneshatter, Rolling Slam or totems as main damage sources for example (although I did try even using a totem to try boost my DPS and it felt clunky to use, I don't like it, I prefer direct attacks) - I just want the fantasy of bonking ground hard and explosion going everywhere around me.
Any tips?

Possible? Yes. Practical? Nope
Is a very obviously bad skill. 5 seconds is a joke, you'd probably get better results with focusing on Mace Strike
It might be usable after patch notes but i was shocked at how bad it was
The only way it wouldn't feel very bad AFAIK is if you play Titan to get 50% better small passives and take every reduced duration node on the tree. The only upsides to EQ is the mana cost to power ratio is very good at level 40 and the aftershock radius is pretty good as well. Probably still a lot worse than just running shockwave totems on the same setup but with totem nodes instead of reduced duration, in either case you can slot Hammer of the Gods for boss damage
I played a totem Sunder Warrior and got to act 3 Black Vault and quit lol i kept getting killed by projectiles from off screen and it was so frustrating and Warrior is so slow
So I just looked into a starter build for Warrior today, and the number 1 warrior build which was featured on mobalytics, were a build that only used EQ and Mace Strike over the course of the acts and even into early endgame. I tried it out for 2 hours and found it extremely hard to use, even with leveling equipment.
I am completely unsure how EQ and mace strike is a Featured starter build guide on mobalytics
there are serval youtubes for current warrior from level 1 to waystone T16 in under 12h.
Forget Earthquake and move to Sunder as your main big attack. Sunder gets guaranteed crits and all you have to do is break armour.
Many ways to do that but by far the easiest is to use Armour Break attack with AoE shockwave when it breaks armour.
My favorite sequence is, shield charge into a group of enemies, if you have Boneshatter equipped youll see the threshold icon appear. You can use boneshatter with added AoE ( i added infernal cry and herald of fire for more AoE damage ) for quick clearing. Anything alive hit with armour break, break armor stun then Sunder.
As time went along I began using shield charge with tons of stun pumped in to full stun atleast one enemy in the group. Then i used seismic cry to get endurance charges. Now with an endurancs charge future Sunders cast twice.
Used this for bosses. Would sometimes one shot them for over 600k damage sunders.
Mainly I got addicted to shield charging enemies lol. It is so fun
Warcry into Eq - Expanse, magnified effect, fist of war, speed up or slow down support depending on if you want more CC or faster pop. Skill is fine people suck at warrior and dunno how to use it.
