I'm sick and tired of people abusing the trade site, trade should be automated!
There are sometimes 10 listings on an item that are fake all created by a few people to artificially suppress the price so they can snipe a low listing. It's a huge waste of everyone else's time to the benefit of a few bad actors.

and it's fucking impossible as a new player to figure out the real price of stuff without asking someone
fully agree, all the scammers would be gone the instant you can just click and buy, no bain-n-switch, no fake low prices etc. etc.
What do you think would happen when trade got automated? Those people would just magically not snipe stuff anymore ? No, it will turn into situation where 10 people will own the market.
Feeling the weight, exile?
It's never been good enough. GGG... for whatever reason.. don't see trade as an opportunity to improve the game. So it is strategically abused every. single. league. I think they have always been afraid that if they make it fair.. there will lose a large contingent of those who are invested in abusing it.
Currently, trading via the website is simply a terrible experience. I don't understand how GGG seriously has to cling to this outdated system from the 2000s. Either a solid auction house is needed, or the game is made in such a way that it can be played without trading.
This is GGG's Vision, trade friction.
I messaged someone for a jewel earlier today at 1ex and got no response even though the site says they were online. Couple minutes later the same guy reposts the jewel for a div. Like cmon man
There are so many things that could be done to improve the current system too, but I think it’d be a cat and mouse game. For example, if you trade for an item it can’t be resold for 7 days. If you receive X number of unique whispers on an item without selling your items become delisted for a period of time.
Yep, I began playing PoE back in Delirium League, don't remember the year, but I do remember that trade was insuferable. After about 3 Leagues I decided to give up and start a SSF character, the dofference is night and day and I'm never going back to trade
I put them all in ignore if they dont answer. Trade should still be automated but keep the current system for less experienced users.
Pleaaaaase let us have in game automated tradeee
the funny thing is that they tested that in settlers with lots of stuff and gold cost and people loved it all they need is make a tab for it!
Everyone tells that to GGG since 10-15 years.
But their vision is a "harsh and unfair trade environment" because that's what it would be like in a world like wraeclast.
Don't dream, just stop playing and one day they might realise. (Hopefully before they lost all)
It's ARSE! I've only ever played SSF because of it.
It's the only reason I no longer play.
in what way would automation help ? if it was instant buy than people would get fleeced all the time; they wouldnt know more the price of things but they would have no way not to do the trade if they mispriced
So you already know how the market operates. PoE 1 worked like this for 10+ years and nothing was done since then. These kinds of thread appear every single league.
Just ignore the first few listings, check for a gap in price between listings and go from there.
Have you tried pressing on "Listed ago"
Calls a girl, she does not reply. Gets angry, calls God, says that world sucks and needs to be redesigned.
Any game is a simulation of a real world, with successes and challenges. If we would decide that the game should simulate only success, we would surely converge that the best game is to directly zap dopaminergic receptors on the brain on a click of a mouse. Have a look in YouTube, it's not for the fainted heart
I will say, the easier the trade experience is, the more people will then complain that there isn't enough content to do and they will run through the game much faster than they do now. There will be more trade volume, more purchasing, and less finding your own upgrades.
I fully admit that PoE2 is already in a position where trading is still far superior even in its frustrating state than crafting or finding items, and it always will be that way. Even though I would find myself happy for auto buyouts as I was searching, I think making trade something so simple might be what forces me to go SSF. I dont think people understand how much that would shift the economy in an unfun way.
I love trade! I'm new 200ish hours in poe2 but trade is awesome! I usually just buy stuff I need there are always bros that haggle. Plus its more interaction I made most friends through trade. I rarely encounter fakes, plenty of non response dudes but there is always another seller.
Bad actors ruining trade...... Say it ain't so.
Trade. There should be no trade outside Guild Stash / Group Play. Item drops it's flagged 'Toilet Paper Guild' and you need be in guild for X days to be able to pull items.
Unless of course, you play on Trade League separated from rest - in this case, there should be AH in Game.
Its funny how the biggest arpg developer (after blizzard) cant implement a auction house while games like hero siege(that is developed by a single person btw), torchlight and last epoch have one pretty much since launch LOL
They know about it and do nothing about it.
Vision
For the love of fuck please. I get a trade request I immediately accept and port to hideout and the fucker is already onto the next person. I started spam inviting people until they ignore me.
Totally agreed. I will not bother playing the game seriously until they add an ingame AH. I might do a season here or there but then purely with whatever loot i can find/craft on my own (which will of course nerf my power very significantly)
That's an issues as old as trading on PoE1
Serious question. What was wrong with the trade board from POE1? I started that game late but, it seemed ok.
If we could direct buy, this artificially low items would just get bought and disappear.
What I find most annoying is messaging for an item listed at 1 exalt and getting a reply saying 90 exalt... lol
I’m sick and tired of the atrocious drop rates that make trading necessary.
Also I'm sick of using weighted sums for res, attributes, increased and flat damage because they didn't add a lot of pseudo mods to the poe2 trade site.
the whisper button on the trade site should be replaced with a "buy" button.
and once clicked, both items get traded (both parties gets a new tab where bought items appear, that is remove only).
it can't be hard to code that, it's basically replacing the owner of both items.
ofc validations would need to be made (make sure both parties have the items right before the purchase is completed).
if you want to stop botting, just make it that each purchase requires a symbolic amount of gold as well as a "transaction cost" (100 gold * player level for instance).
Give me ssf boost like last epoch dammit , lock me out of trade I don’t care that shit is annoying af . Trading will always be superior to crafting so why craft when I can use that divine or exalts for an immediately better weapon . The trading is annoying and what put me off from the game for now
And it's still a paid game. What happens when it becomes free.
Step 1: Make crafting next to impossible rng
Step 2: Make trading an archaic work around system that obfuscates actual prices and encourages shitty behavior.
Step 3: Profit
Yep. People for told ggg for years that they hate the trade system. LE has such a great take on trade and ssf, I wish they would just steal it.
I got my biggest laugh recently on the trade site. Someone listed a 3 exalt item for 1. Replied back to me minutes later "sry much interest 2 Dev or 150 Ex" I just started laughing, didnt reply back. Then 2 mins later they messaged me "u rdy." I just replied back "LOL"
Huh?… people don’t like the trade website? Well someone should tell GGG I don’t think they have any idea!
I was really excitd for poe 2 ( i am not a poe 1 player). I waited patiently the realease of this game and bought it (im kind of poor you see, so when i buy a game is because i really want to play it) and i just found that this game is a buy/sell simulator if you dont want to spend infinite hours farming an apropiate item ( because crafting also sucks u-u)
I'm at the point now where i just DM everyone in 1 go, the trade site is a good idea but it is ruined by people. Automate it all day long for me.
also starting a new character in an ongoing league is uncomfortable because leveling items for 1 exalt are impossible to buy. no one wants to leave a map to sell something for 1 exalt. the other day i texted about 30-40 sellers to buy an item for 1 exalt
If trade is automated people will still abuse the trade site and botting/RMTing will be even worse.
Trading in general is a bad experience.
During 0.1 I had a 2h hammer from ritual with +7 Melee skill. I listed it for 1 divine.
Within 5 minutes I had a dozen messages. Realized I undervalued it as playing a Witch, I assumed The melee skill was the "good" stat on it, not the 230% physical and tier 9 physical.
With an dumb auction house system, I would have lost 64 divines.
When telling people this story, the answer i normally get back is "Well, knowledge in POE is premium, so you should lose the money to learn to be better". This sucks for new players (or general clueless players without godlike knowledge of all builds and metas).
An intelligent auction system that is able to pitch a player a "fair" value would be great.
I have stopped playing POE2 because it needs an Auction House. I will not play this game again without it. Either fix the drops, so I can play SSF, or make it auction house. I WILL NOT TRADE!!!
I feel like it would take a lot of resources to make a proper auction house. It’s still possible they plan to make one but it’ll take time. Last epoch has one and it is absolute garbage. D4 players use a third party trade website. I honestly think right now GGG has the best solution for trade.
Sadly the devs dont think the same way. Sorry.
