Can someone explain to me how "Fast Metabolism" notable passive works ?

Hi everyone,

I'm playing as Blood Mage and I see this passive skill is used at lot in endgame content as BM, but I don't really understand how it works.

For example : suppose I currently have 800/1000 HP and I leech 300 Life.

From what I understand, I will recover 200 HP so now I have 1000/1000 HP... But what happen to the 100 remaining life leech ?

Note : I'm playing a Blood Mage with Atziri's Acuity (life leech is instant) and Soul Tether

Lifeleech will stop if it reaches your max HP by default. Let’s say you have 800/1000 HP. Without fast metabolism, once healed to full you stop leeching. So if you had 500 leech, it would stop after healing 200

You will leech to max, then overflow the leech to further heal yourself in case damaged again with fast metabolism.

However, since your leech is instant, this doesn’t work unless you can overflow leech via unique chest. Allow HP togo above maximum (don’t confuse this with blood remnants, as they don’t work outside own remnants)

It’s only good for slow leech, as you stack it up. Instant leech cannot be stacked, as it’s instant.

It’s okay if you don’t have 100% crit chance, as then sometimes you will have a healing buffer.

Energy shield leech shouldn’t require metabolism, as it starts working once HP is full with same logic.

So fast metabolism is super good without instant leech. But with instant leech, you don’t get any benefit.

Fast metabolism works with instant leech not sure what the other dude is cooking

Easy to test. Put atziris gloves on, put the notable on, and check your character sheet. Ppl been proving this in Church of Bloodmage on poe2 discord all season
