Need some help understanding if tangletongue is worth it as bleed amazon.
I just started playing a couple weeks ago and am currently a level 49 Amazon on DotH and got very lucky chancing and vaaling this Tangletongue. Currently weighing up some options and wanted to some advice.
- My build is a bleed amazon roughly following this build https://mobalytics.gg/poe-2/builds/woolie-bleed-amazon
- My understanding is that a high accuracy rare spear is more effective than tangletongue once I unlock the penetrate node.
Is the rare spear with high acc. that much better in endgame or could I just add 2 runes and stick with this spear until the end?
- Could I potentially tweak my build/respec my character to maximise usage of this spear or is it just less effective with bleed amazon.
- I also know that the spear is better for LS builds that aren't amazon. Should I just trade the spear for some Div orbs? I had a look at TT's on poe2trade but wasn't sure how much my spear was worth.
My goal is just to reach endgame and have a decent character before the next league starts.

Short answer, yes
Long answer, yes, because spears that are better than tangle cost an incredible amount of divines.
Yes it is. Tangletongue crit multiplier works on blood hunt damage which by tooltip says "unscalable" xd.
Bug or not, it's the way for this league.
If you respect into a blood mage it works even better since you can add even more damage to your bleed (the elemental damage from rings and gloves which otherwise is lost).
I ended up chancing two TTs and I vaaled the worse crit rate one and got two sockets. Considering the other.
To answer your question, its better BUT I had this really sexy other spear with incredibly high accuracy and phys damage.
One thing you can do is take a look at other builds. I went to poe2 ninja and search on blood hunt. Then, sorted by DPS.

The top folks are using mirror-tier rares most of us could only hope to afford. That said, that’s a good TT. Use it, and plug your build into pob to look for upgrades.
How much would a TT be with like 20% crit chance and double socketed 25% crit damage? Got one off trade for 6 chaos a few weeks ago and kinda want to switch to flicker strike invoker curious if I could get enough for a flicker build

I thought the expensive comes more from buying the supporting items with high tier raw damage and accuracy.

Thanks for asking this Q. I dropped one almost identical to yours in SSF and corrupted the second socket but (mistakenly, according to the replies) thought a rare would be stronger.
That almost max crit chance n 2 runes. Yeah definitely worth it even as non-bleed.
I use tangletongue as bleed amazon. Nothing but the extremely expensive top tier spears are as good. I couple it with the unique ramart tower shield to double accuracy. It works great.
Yes this spear is worth using, it’s generally not recommended due to how expensive it is but since you have it already it’s an upgrade over most other spears
