Cleansed vs Corrupted, what's the advantage to Cleansing if any
Hey all as the title says, since corrupted nodes give +1 Monster Level... I'm unclear on what the real reason is to cleanse nodes? Is there any advantage to cleansing them instead of just leaving the area as-is?

Did you mouse over the areas and notice that cleansing gives huge buffs like increased rarity or quant?
Cleansed can also give +1 Monster level and have a chance to drop Fractured Orbs. AFAIK there is no benefit to clear corrupted maps it's always better to do them cleansed.
Note: corrupted as well as cleansed don't always give +1 to mobs, there is a chance for it. You can see the +1 mod when you hover your mouse over a node.
Both CAN give +1 lvl, so clear corrupted +1 and then cleanse for a chance at +1 since it is rolled anew.
Itβs not like last season. Corruption isnβt an automatic +1 to monster level.
Corrupted = XP grind because more monsters spawn when you kill
Cleansed = item grind to get fracturing orbs, and the cleansed modifiers are more often boosts to rarity and quantity
A corrupted map does NOT give +1 to monster level by default, only if it is written out in the text description when opening the waystone. Same for cleansed
Corrupted doesn't inherently give +1 to monster level. It used to, last season. But the season update made it so corrupted zones required to be cleansed and then cleansed have a chance to +1 along with many other mods it can give.
So in order to have +1 on corrupted nodes they have to have irradiated or you may have that boss atlas point that also adds and then your looking at a boss map that's corrupted? I'm not sure without pics but I'd look at these as starting points to figure it out.
But that's the diff. Corrupted nodes don't give anything more than corrupted monsters spawning.
This is one aspect of the atlas that still needs a ton of work. They need to really extend and lean into different areas of the atlas having really meaningful differences in both gameplay and loot drops. The biomes, unique maps, citadel zones, and corrupted/cleansed areas really need to have a defining expected drop or experience. For example, you should be able to enter a cleansed map and expect to get at least 1 to 3 shards of a fractured orb. Same sort of thing for biomes, you should be able to blindly open a map and know what biome you are in depending on the drops you are getting.
I hope in 0.3 they add more types of zones and lean even farther into specific mechanics/loot in those zones.
