Strange idea that came to me in a dream

Running on path of exile 2

Imagine every boot gives a run skill

Run { Gains moves speed starting from 10% up to 200% in 5 seconds (maybe less) } The ramping part is for it to no be abuse as a instantly 200% movement speed gain but still be able to be very fast for map traversal.

It could have a movement tag and a special running tag(while using a running skills the players and it's minions deal 90% less damage or any other balance debuff or maybe nothing at all)

There could also be others running skills, like phase run for high level dex boots or some archimage stuff for mana mages. The sky is the limit here.

And maybe a stamina mechanic so it would be easy to balance the running skills.

Also if running skills don't ever come, I want to make shild rush have infinity range, just make it harder to ster after a secondo or do.

There's no reason to penalized players outside of combat, but I do agree I kind don't want players moving at mach speed while bombing the screen on poe2, we have poe1 for that and I want 2 to have a more impactful skills and gameplay.

No. Just increase base movement speed

If I had a dollar for every time I heard "impactful skills and gameplay..."

I don't mean this in a snide fashion, but it really has become a 'meme' and seems like a lot of people that say this don't really seem to understand what they're asking for. It's just sort of loosely parroting what GGG said in some interview out of context and without really thinking it through.

+Movement speed is one of the big things that set PoE# apart from titles such as Diablo 4. It is meant to add to the sense of power fantasy. In other words, going fast end game is an intended characteristic. As is, it is too restrictive for many classes, that have no +speed on their tree. Pretty much everyone has to get 35% MS boots as a minimum, leaving all boots that don't have it relegated to vendor scrap.

Just calling it "zoom" or whatever just misses the point and in may ways is dismissive of what the game is actually about.
