Just a random idea I had while looking through items and builds.
Is Svalinn worth it?
Svalinn gives you lucky block, but also reduces your maximum chance to block. Looking at the wiki, and assuming that your character maxes out block chance, Svalinn takes your maximum block from a 75% to either 80% or 90%, depending on roll and corruption.
Going from 75% to 80%, a worst case, only gives you 5% max block chance. It also takes you from a 25% chance of getting hit, to 20%, effectively reducing amount of hits you take by a fifth (20% less hits).
On the other side of the scale, the best case takes you from 75% to 90%, or rather it reduces your chance to be hit from 25% to 10%, a three fifths reduction (60% less hits)
The cost of this is a potentially well made shield. A rare strength shield can have very valuable modifiers, such as additional PDR (8%), max ele(2%) and chaos resist(3%), as well as a ton of life(189, which indirectly buffs your stun and ailment thresholds).
So it really becomes a question of avoidance versus max hit. Svalinn provides a unique bonus to block chance, exceeding what is usually possible to provide a pretty extreme top end. However, without other investments like turtle charm, there are hits where block doesn't help and there are sources of damage that block cannot prevent.
I think it really just becomes a question of hit avoidance vs mitigation, and considering you already have 75% hit avoidance, is it worth it?
Some key points to note though, Svalinn's lowered max block also means it takes less investment to cap, and lucky block is very handy to mitigate instances where block chance is debuffed (though I don't think we have that in poe2?)
How does extra xp% stacking work in maps? Sometimes I’ll juice a map for 72% xp, use a 30% waystone on it, and it’s 102% extra xp. Other times, it’s way more like 150% or over 200%.
Are there other factors that affect the way extra xp multiplies other than tablets and stones, and if so, what are they?
I haven’t been able to find any rhyme or reason for it.
