Please give us a Training Dummy that shows DPS.

Comments
we begged for that for a decade in poe1 and still not happening. good luck here
Would be epic to have in the hideout
I just wish a proper marketplace. I never traded, and probably never will with this piece of shit system with external sites and hand to hand trade. I suppose they need to sell those premium tabs.
Pob is coming in January
Jonathan said in a Zizaran interview it was something they want to add, but in the past never did because they were worried about stuff like 'oh well should it have res or not, should it be a boss, should there be multiple types of dummies, should it be doing stuff like an enemy or not, etc'.
Ziz basically said 'we just want a single stationary dummy to show raw dps' and Jonathan said they could probably do that, so they would take another look.
It might not happen in the immediate future, but it's not hopeless like some of these comments are implying.
they have refused to give us damage numbers and battle text for many years, sadly
A group of them close by to also see splash and aoe
Never gonna happen
Despite their track record on this, I’m actually (naively) hopeful it will come. In his interview with Ziz, Jonathan seemed fairly open to the idea with his main hangup being how to do it correctly. Now maybe he just played along to get to the next topic, but I am going to go out on a limb and believe in this (because I want it so badly).
No. You WILL plug in all your gear and stats into a secondary unofficial program to calculate your DPS and you WILL enjoy it. /s
Use one of the campaign bosses to test. I sometimes use Ignagduk to test.
I mainly need this to test an interaction between gems or effects.
Just make it count as a unique to show the damage number in the top and it'll cover 95% of my wanted use cases.
Let me move it about in my hideout and place them where I want.
Weird how Torchlight Infinite is still only top down arpg that done this correct.
Surprising that this isnt in the game considering they do track damage numbers on each boss so the display is already in the game.
No
First time?
Just wait for POB, you don’t need a training dummy
They won't do that. They want the game to be as much of an inconvenience as possible.
I will say the addition of the dps on the skill gem page is helpful to see how new gear will change your dps. BUT i agree a dummy would be nice to see how the whole rotation adds up.
Some of these comments though sound like people don't even know there's dps on the skill gem page lmao.
Yes please
If Diablo can do it, so can we!
Training dummies? My friend does that all day when we newcomers ask questions.
If you google the videos prior to release the devs specifically state why this wouldnt work. I cant remember the video, but since you are interested I am sure you can find it!
hA-HA
Yeah I miss my grimdawn dummies and respec gold
This has to be satire
Yes this RH. I am having so much fun and this is the only thing I wish for everytime I am making gear or build changes.
but then i will be confronted with aesthetic vs reality
Don't we already have damage numbers?
There are DPS numbers for each skill in your skill pane. Curious to be educated what the difference would be with a dummy? Other than watching it fluctuate with crit chance, etc.
They won't add one because people will definitely find stuff that doesn't work properly.
No need. Not only will we have POB but we already have DPS in the gem tooltip. On top of that DPS is kind of irrelevant on a dummy because of so many factors such as map player debuffs, monster buffs, various kinds of rares and buffs, and so on. The main thing is just "does it feel good to clear maps?" if the answer is yes, your DPS is good enough. If the answer is no, a dummy wont help you, you need different gear, tree or skills.
Please add it ggg. You have to be realistic. There is zero chance the dps numbers in the gem sheet will be ever be up to the challenge of considering every stat. It would be just a major improvement to have a 0 res 0 defense dummy in hideout. I'm not even asking for adjustable or different dummies. I want to see if putting a gem or picking a node does anything.
I was on the fence, but after seeing how little information we get from the UI, I've converted to team "get me a dummy".
I’d love to just have a standardized T15 map that I could use to test my build. It’s so hard to gauge the effectiveness of small tweaks when every map is so different.
Runescapes community board needs to be an industry standard, Jagex is the epitome of a company that accepts their fuck ups and listens to the community, had they not, might not be much of them left
There's zero excuse not to and anyone defending otherwise is comically deluded
I genuinely prefer how it is now with community tools. I feel like a training dummy would make fomo worse, and wouldn't offer any utility that PoB (once it's available) wouldn't do better.
Here go again hah
Keep wishing, best you will ever get to this is when something like path of building comes out for poe2 and you can just view your dps in the app
Can somebody give me a reason why developers always seem so coy about DPS meters in games?
It always seems to be avoided yet players mostly always want it.
I guess I can understand in MMOs where people can use the DPS meter to bully other people or stop people from playing unless they have enough DPS. But for a game like this it seems silly not to provide it as an option. Even if it is just as a training dummy.
And please make Tujen as dummy lol
No
Yeah, when they literally don't show raging spirits as doing ANY damage, I have no idea if it's even worth investing in them later lol
Closest we can have right now is go fight a boss, record it, and see how the damage showing up top fairs against the time elapsed. I don't think we'll ever have better than that.
Bro I would kill to see some data
It's not a part of the VISION
Oh no he looks sad tho. Put a smile on him
Just give us dps numbers in real combat.
they should give you the bosses you kill as dummies in hideout
Not gonna happen. Chris Wilson is immune to innovation.
